This is a great lunch place or casual dinner place. Lunch menu is delicious, varied and very reasonably priced. Also quick service
Our favorite dish at Red Lotus is DongPo Pork. This dish can be considered authentic, without being Americanized. When my wife works very hard and needs some comfort Chinese food, I often order DongPo Pork from Red Lotus and take it home to sooth her. There are many other great choices from the Chinese menu, too.
This is a great stop for a meal. A little nicer decor than many asian restaurants and the food is very tasty. Certainly not formal, but a nice restaurant for lunch or dinner with friends or family.
Red Lotus has been in Chapel Hill for about 7 years, and it is a demanding market. They have done well and are always busy! I visited again with my family for a celebratory dinner a few days ago and was reminded why it's one of my favorite restaurants here. Some standard Chinese fare, but well-cooked, well-presented and with fresh... More
This is where we go whenever we eat out. It's almost always great. The owner and wait staff know us which is nice. We order off the Chinese menu and get some interesting dishes. Sometimes we share an entree and each have an appetizer. Service is good usually but once or twice we were disappointed.
I have been here twice and really enjoyed the food and the service. I am not a connoseur of authenic Chinese food, but have eaten Chinese in China towns in many parts of the world and I find the food at the Red Lotus very tasty. I liked the wonton soup (only $2) and really liked the Lotus Ginger Soy... More
Red Lotus is a terrific Chinese restuarant located in the complex adjacent to Whole Foods in Chapel Hill. The food is delicious with great service. Their lunch specials are good size proportions of a nice selection of dishes with choice of soup and rice, are priced at $7 -- and it just can't be beat! It has a bar but... More
The atmosphere is very romantic. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. It is slightly pricey however worth every penny of it.
I, personally found the food to be rather tasteless. Have been there several times as its one of my friend's most favorite restaurants, so I tried to like it. Had the Shrimp Lo Mein and could not believe that the shrimp in the dish were cocktail size! The time before I had a duck dish and the duck was way... More
A group of our friends meets here at least twice a year. We've talked about going somewhere else, but always end up here because we all love the food. They're accommodating about several food allergies and preferences, and never make us feel rushed to give up our table once we've finished eating. Everything they prepare is really well done.
