If you've never been to Watkins Glen and / or have never been on Seneca Lake, you should really try to take the time to take a ride on the Seneca Legacy. They have several different options for rides to fit into your travel itinerary. Food is okay - but the ride is fab!
My husband took me here for my birthday. The cruise was wonderful on gorgeous Seneca Lake but the food was very disappointing. Thank goodness my husband ordered the prime rib (average at best) which was enough for the both of us. My "scallops" were horrible. They seemed to be canned (no, not diver scallops) and cooked in some sort of...

We could look over the lake and enjoy our meals. The clam chowder was the best. We loved the atmosphere too. The portions were just right as was the price. This is a place I would recommend.
Special thanks to our captain (Bob?), a well-seasoned sailor and someone who was outstanding at bringing the history - and even current issues - to life for us. Well worth the one-hour spent on the lake with him.
Took the one hour boat ride. The fall colors were especially good. The captain and his assistant gave us an interesting history on this area. It's big on salt production. Although there's a huge salt deposit under the lake, it's still a fresh water lake that was formed by glaciers.
The trip was a nice one except for the monotone announcer talking the entire trip about the salt refineries on the lake.
Our debut for the bruncheon cruise - just two (2) hours but it seemed much longer - was so enjoyable. We chose Captain Bill's after reading reviews and were certainly rewarded. Everything was smoothly and professionally done - even our last-minute change to the upper deck.. A nice crewgirl escorted us and placed our table linen (a very nice touch)....

We prefer sail boats, the sun on your back and the wind in your hair ,but timing and money had us touring with capt Bills. A nice tour of the lake. A little hard to hear clearly but still a nice ride.
Very informative and beautiful scenery. Nice way to see the vastness of Seneca lake. The boat was an older wooden boat well kept and preserved. A must for visitors to this area.
