Description: Ruby's is a brilliant gem in downtown Rye. It is chic, casual and comfortable. It charms guests with its varied menu, friendly and professional service, and its lively ambience. Ruby's stylish decor showcases an authentic zinc bar from Paris, beaded chandeliers and ruby red drapes. From its coffered ceiling and tasseled sconces down to its marble mosaic floor, no precious stone has been left unturned.

My friend and I met here for a girls night out. Initial impression was that it was very noisy, and despite there being a lot of available tables, we were seated between two occupied tables which didn't make much sense to me. Food was served quickly and was average. My grilled ham and cheese sandwich was packed with ham. Would... More

My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Ruby's this year. The decor is really cute and cozy. I like that there are different styles of seating - bar, booths, tables and high tops. In addition to the regular menu, they had some Valentine's Day specials. There was a lot to offer from salads and the raw bar to pasta,... More

We ate here on our first night in Rye, menu has good selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes. Ruby's had a selection of 4 different types of oysters on the menu which were fresh and fairly priced plus they come with a delicious horse radish sauce! Salads were generous and freshly prepared, wines were served by the glass at... More

What's important to me in a restaurant is to consistenly deliver good food and great service. Ruby's Oyster Bar & Bistro has both. The menu is varied (light fare to full entrees) with seafood and meat dishes and they will prepare it to your liking. The waitstaff is excellent, and as someone else had mentioned, they are there to make... More

I like the decor, the ambiance, the oysters and the fresh fish. We go there once or twice a month. It has a comfortable feel to it. Sometimes, on Sat. nights, there's a strange bridge and tunnel thing going on, complete with loud and offensive conversations, but that's rare. Overall, I'd recommend it, maybe just avoid Sat. nights though. More

What a shame that a nice place with good food should fall down on something as basic as pests. The minute any food came out, our table was swarmed with fruit-fly, household fly and gnats. The staff did not take any special note which could only mean that this is par for the course. When having a $30 + entree for... More

They try to be something they are not! They must be writing their own reviews. Food was dressed up bar food. Lacked taste. I have been there at least 5 times over the past 5 years. More
