Everywhere I have traveled to there is a place that everyone knows and frequents. A local place that you as a patron can depend on. Don's Original for most Rochesterians is that kind of place. I believe if you are looking for a great burger cooked the way you like it, set yourself down at Dons Original in Seabreeze. The... More

Don's (in its long since past incarnation as Don & Bob's) was the first restaurant I ever ate at even before I moved to Rochester. It has been a family favorite on Monroe Ave. for decades, with many different choices from burgers to a variety of interesting sandwiches and salads. Its a family restaurant that is great for family visitors... More

We went to the dons In penfield. Glad to see they honor coupons. As for the hots, they are average, the hamburgs are really good. Wish the fries were not the steak fries. Onion rings are pretty expensive for what you get. Rest of the food is pretty good, hot turkey, BBQ, sandwichs etc.

The reviews on this page seem to all reflect the Seabreeze location which is the one with the ambiance that Don and Ann Barbato built over the many years. Monroe Ave is ok but it's the lakeside one that does it for me.

So you want a red hot and a porker, eh? Dont forget the home made hot sauce. Or perhaps a simple ground round? Oh, fries with that, please. Well, this is the place. Simple, basic, fast, sometimes even friendly, and always priced right. You won't pay for the fancy decor.. There is none. But it's still an experience you'll remember.... More

Just down the hill near the water from the amusement park. Although a little more than what you may pay at a national burger chain, its worth it! World's greatest burger as it appears on the menu is not to be missed. Unique spicy relish tops off the thin patty. Unique and tastey with toasted honey bun. Pizza rolls were... More

My family and I used to go to Don and Bob's when I was a kid. For fun, we went back again and man was it just as good as I remembered. Their steak burgers are amazing and the onion rings are the best I have ever had--bar none! Their pies and custard are a great ending to a fast... More

Great place to get a burger. Higher quality than fast food, and much better than Bill Greys next door which is more of a chain.

Don's Original is, first and foremost, a burger joint. Don't get me wrong; they do burgers fairly well, and the price is right. But expect a very informal meal with a restricted menu. It wasn't my idea of a great lunch, and I was only there waiting for my car to be detailed. Chomp, chomp!

Lots of choices when you visit the sea breeze area - but the mainstay is still the best. Burgers are juicy and plump and fries thick and crispy. Don't waste it on a chain when you can have the original!
