The Owl House is the latest occupant of this tiny restaurant and bar in the Lower Monroe/South Wedge section of Rochester near downtown. Owner Jeff Ching has developed a variety of menu options catering to vegan, gluten-free and ordinary diners. All dishes are carefully prepared and tastefully seasoned with fresh local items. Attention to detail in presentation is clearly evident... More

I have been wanting to try out the Owl House for months -- and finally got there with two skeptical girlfriends. we all LOVED IT!!! we ordered three different meals and shared them so that we got to taste alot - we will def. come back here again and again. I loved 'mattys moustache' - which is a sandwich with... More

This is a really cute place that seems to be an old house. A bar up front, and reservations? Suggested! We had the fritter appetizer which was very filling, so be careful! I didn't really care for the ceasar salad, and if you are a big ceasar fan like myself, you're better off with the mixed greens. I enjoyed the... More

This restaurant is the first of its kind in Rochester, offering a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes along with meat and seafood entrees. Their meals are delicious, the "snacks" on the menu are great, and they have an AMAZING cocktail list. Some of the best cocktails in Rochester. I think one of the best features of the Owl House... I want to like this place; a lot of friends definitely do. Been here five+ times and have sampled different menu items each trip with unfortunately similar results - the food is more tantalizingly described than executed. Bland is the first word that comes to mind. Unseasoned potato chips and vinegar green sides are unsatisfying. Great potential, nice neighborhood feel,... More

We had a fantastic dinner there just before Christmas. The food was great, for both the vegetarians and omnivore in our group. The setting was wonderfully casual, but quiet enough for good table talk. The service was excellent, too. Definitely a top choice. More

Some hits, some misses, no home runs but more than adequate. Wine list iffy at best, beer or mixed drinks are a better choice. More

The quality of food at the Owl House is superb. The best of the best ingredients are used containing no chemicals/pesticides. The daily specials are phenomenal, I've been here numerous time for lunch, dinner and now have tried their brunch menu and have never had a bad meal. The only complaint I have is that they charge for sides like... More
