For starters, they have not done anything creative with their menu since I have been here (8 years). Second, don't even attempt to go there without a reservation (especially on a weekend Fri/Sat) they have a reservation Nazi at the door. Seriously, what a nasty lady. I am from NYC, you'd think you were trying to get into Le Circ.... More

Looks like a neighborhood bar from the outside and appears to be popular with locals. Noisy atmosphere in dining room; service was fine, but food was not notable. Cold bread to start.. My broiled seafood special was a plentiful portion of flavorless shrimp, scallops, haddock, and crabcakes; perhaps I should have ordered it fried. My colleagues enjoyed their entrees--a reasonably... Casey's has been around for so many years - not necessarily in this location - but always a great meal, excellent service and reasonable prices. Make reservations if you plan on going on a Thur, Fri or Sat night! Happy Hour is crowded, but you always run into new friends. Yes, it's a hidden Jewel! More

I went to Casey's Restaurant in Rensselaer, NY a few days ago. We started with appetizers by sharing a special Calamari dish they were offering, and Steamed Clams. Both were very good. My only complaint was the volume of Calamari - beware - it was a huge plate! I had the Chicken and Sausage entree which was very good, and... More

OMG!! The house burger with bleu cheese and an order of fries literally was the best burger I have ever eaten. The roll was crunchy, the bleu cheese was heavy enough to taste, but not overwhelming to the burger. Fries were just delicious with just enough salt to really put me over the edge. Washed it all down with the... More

Casey's is generally my go-to place for a nice dinner, whether an intimate dinner with a friend or spouse, or with business associates. Can either dress up or go casual and not feel awkward in either attire. Staff is usually good - depending on how busy they are and who you get. There is one waitress there who has celiac... More

Hate using the term "hidden gem", but Casey's is really a great restaurant. You would probably pass by it and think it was a dive bar. When you enter, one side is relaxed sports bar, the other side is a romantic dining room. This is a place you can go often and get a sandwich or a burger and watch... More

Thanks to Barbara at the front desk of the Fairfield Inn, we ended up at Casey's for dinner. I am lactose intolerant and when I ordered the Italian salad, I asked the waitress Rita to leave out the provolone. She was so attentive that she came back to the table to tell me that she had checked the ingredients on... More
