This was our favorite place out East, awesome setting, great food, nice vibe. Each year it's been getting a little crazier and this year it's just gotten completely out of control. They've hired an outside group to come in a control the whole situation. There are dudes in black shirts with walkie talkies trying to control the crowds. Wherever you... More

I cannot believe how terrible this glorified motel was... the beds were dirty, the shower was not bigger than a school locker, the window a/c unit was blaring directly onto our heads- so we had to sleep inverted on the saggy old mattress. If it weren't so late I would've left immediately. There were huge spiders everywhere and it was... More

Surf lodge has brought montauk to a new level of trendy, perhaps for the worst! If u need a scene and want to mingle go for the drinks and atmosphere. If you want a nice setting and dont care about quality if food and price then you can go for dinner too. I personally will never have another meal there.... More

$12 Margarita filled 3/4 with ice in PLASTIC cup.. Obnoxious, bare-footed Hampton (wannabee) people talking phony talk...Scarfs around everyone's neck! Overpriced, bad tasting food. Crab with Popcorn kernels at $18!! about 12 Clams oversteamed and salty at a crazy, inflated price!! Tables on top of each other.. Rude wait service leaning their butts on tables on which someone will soon... More

This was exactly what you would expect from the Hamptons (even though it is technically in Montauk.) Aston Martins and Maseratis line the street outside this place and inside the crowd looks like they came from a Bergdorf's catalogue. Great outdoor space. There was a large deck with comfy chairs and a sandy beach area with a bonfire. Live band... More

We got there early after we had been at the beach all day. It was a very Hawaiin feel, very casual, great deck. As the night progressed the dress code got more sophisticated and we felt out of place in our beach gear. We went in for dinner and the dinner was not bad. I had the fried chicken and... More

A local told us that this was the place to go and see the "Hollywood" surfers. Whatever, we'll go anyway. Parking is along the road and walking up you'll see a couple anti Surf Lodge stickers. People must really hate this place. Yes, it is trendy. The decor is very much urban with a slight beach vibe. It's a total... More

After a memorial-day weekend visit, it seems like the Surf Lodge is about to self-destruct. Mistakes, of which there were many, were compounded rather than fixed. In fact it is hard to decide what is more fraudulent: the bar selling cheap vodka in Grey Goose bottles, or the restaurant’s claim to be capable of serving edible food. The location is... More
