A group of friends and I come here every year in October, we always eat downstairs in the dungeon and like to listen to the bartenders tell their ghost stories, they are very interesting and some of us have even had our own experiences here to talk about. We all love the food (best black and bleu burger I ever... More

good food in the elegant upstairs restaurant with stone archways and large open fire although service was a little slow and the downstairs bar was a little lower key with a dungeon feel with a more basic menu but lots of fun for our 7 year old daughter who loved the ghost stories More

Many of our guests enjoy a fine evening of cocktails and dinner at Beardslee, a great place for the atmosphere and the history, and don't forget your special events can be booked here too, they do weddings the best! More

I live rather close to Beardslee, so I'm there a lot. The atmosphere itself it charming, good food and they always have events (Murder Mystery dinners, bands, crazy Halloween Party every year, etc.) More

We made reservations to join another couple to celebrate both husbands birthdays 2 weeks prior to arrival. We assume that when the reservation was made the staff knew there was a wedding scheduled for the same time that day. Who knew what a fiasco this was aboutto be. We went to the Dungeon before Dinner to menjoy a drink at... More

My husband and I and 2 couples drove one hour (from Scotia, NY,) to eat at this intriguing castle and had the most fantastic time! Each of us ordered a different entree, and each dish was very unusual and so delicious. We all kept ooohing and ahhhing over our meals and couldn't get over the high quality and presentation. Three... More

The setting and the building are worth the visit. If you are into old stone castles, historic properties, tales of ghost sightings, haunted mansions, and whispers of the unique history..this place may be worth a visit. It's about 40 minutes from Utica, at the foothills of the Adirondack park. We were seated in the main dining room, surrounded by stunning... More

I have been here twice. The first time we ate in the Dungeon and there was a bad smell down there....like backed up sewer or septic. The food was alright though. Service was not bad. We gave it a second try this past weekend. We made reservations for the dungeon. We were seated (at a dirty table). The waiter was... More

After making a reservation based on a recommendation from a friend, my girlfriend an I arrived early and were allowed to walk around and explore the grounds. The landscaping is gorgeous and the huge flowering vines are photo-worthy to say the least. Everyone we encountered tried to make sure we were being taken care of and were friendly (and busy).... We were looking for a great romantic birthday celebration. One of the meals had lukewarm lamb and cool vegetables. Needless to say, it ruined the whole experience. More
