Think of this as something between a "family restaurant" and an upscale dining experience.
It ilocated in an old rail station and has been decorated with railroad memorabelia and is clean and tidy. The people there are friendly and helpful and most attentive without being bothersome. Just a great small town place.
We made a stop there for lunch about...

We were there on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was filled with a "ladies who lunch" crowd. My boyfriend and I were passing through town on a road trip and needed a late lunch. Despite the very feminine ambiance, they had some good home cooking on the menu. He ordered the elk burger, and I had the mac n cheese....

We were tired of eating at the chain restaurants with the pre-prepared food. We were looking for something better than a diner but mostly wanted someplace that prepared the food on-site. Voila! The D & R Depot Restaurant in Le Roy. We were greeted at the door of the old railroad depot by a little old lady that was so...

After touring the Jell-O Museum in Leroy, we spotted the D & R Depot, which in fact is in the old railroad depot. It is a warm, home-town place. Clearly a small restaurant run by local folks who love their town and do their own cooking. I remember especially the assortment of home-made muffins - my favorite had a streak...

This is a fun restaurant with good food and service at reasonable prices. The ladies at the Jell-o museum recommended the D & R Depot and off we went and we were not disappointed. I had their chicken pot pie which was chock full of stuff and cooked just right. Wife had another chicken dish and was equally pleased. Dining...

I have to say, when we initially got to up to the D&R Depot, an B&O old train depot in Le Roy NY, we were a bit worried. The early crowd was skewed heavily older, but in this case it is just a case of people knowing a good thing when they taste it.
Undeterred, we dove into the menu...

Sean and his team always do an amazing job at the restaurant and with catering. Timely, fresh, reasonably priced and community focused...what more could you ask for.
The restaurant is in an old train depot (hence the name) and is small but comfortable. it feels like you are in an old grandma's kitchen or dining room. Servers are attentive and...
