So, this is where all the hippies went! Fantastic food, unique decor and great easy-going atmosphere. A very crunchy-granola type of place

They make their own bread --we bought 3 loaves after tasting the bread in our sandwiches--soup is wonderful. Highly recommend.
The food was amazing, the staff was super sweet, and the restaurant was ADORABLE! The decor is so well put together: old tables and chairs mismatched together, and lots of floral boughs all over the ceiling. I especially loved the old stove they had some art displayed on.
I would definitely say this is a must for a nice deli...

This was my 2nd time here and love the sandwiches served on sourdough. I had the jerk chicken. My parents, brother and his family were with us. Everyone had a great lunch and pleased with food, even kids.
I think to work in this restaurant, you have to qualify for bad attitude and poor customer service. It's been around for ever and that is the one thing that has not changed. Had breakfast here on a recent visit to Lake Placid. Food was delicious, bread was amazing. The place itself its cute and cozy - has a real "mountain town" feel to it.
We chose this place one morning since it was very conveniently located across the street from our hotel and it did have good reviews on Trip Advisor. It isn't bad but compared to what we got at Generations for less money, it's really not all that great. The bread is really good indeed (if you like sourdough) but for the...

Attention Foodies! You must have breakfast here, quality ingredients add up to great taste! Lunch is great too. Do not miss this place when you are in town
We frequented Saranac Sourdough twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The food is very good and the cafe is convenient to the the Wildwood On The Lake hotel (across the street). Reasonable pricing.
I love this place. It is low-key and has a delightful staff and a great menu for breakfast. Of course, the sandwiches are great too. For hiking I like to breakfast there (my favorite is the Croque Madame, though the pancakes are pretty special), then order a sandwich for lunch on the trail. The coffee isn't the absolute best, but...
