Business travel takes me to Garden City once a year. Ate here last year and decided to come back again on my recent trip. Even though solo, sat a a small table by the bar since it was full of patrons. Had a beet salad followed by the Sea Bass on a bed of spinach risotto - delicious. Service was... More

While visiting my home own of NYC, we stayed on Long Island to visit friends and colleagues. Upon our return from Manhattan on the LIRR, we decided to try a place we had seen over the years but never visited; Walt Street. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the service was, also. We shared a Walt... More

Have been to Walk Street under most scenarios: with wife, with wife & 3 kids and with large group (25+). Setting: Brick walls with nice local artwork and in summer, front doors open and provide outdoor seating. Definitely a pleasant, comfortable setting. Food: American style menu with good selection of pastas, chicken and meats. Shrimp Risotto appetizer is a standout... More

Fresh, innovative options-very well presented- that bought us back for dinner a second evening. Very casual but with class. Waiter was helpful and ever so charming. More

My husband, our 8 month old daughter and another couple were greeted by the hostess. We told her it was 4 and a high chair. She asked us if we had a reservation. We told her no. She looked around at her half empty restaurant and with a less than accomodating tone said "let me see if I can find... More

Newport Grill hasn't been around for awhile; it's now called Walk Street and has gone from a ladies-who-lunch type of place to a fine contemporary restaurant with great food and great ambiance. Much better than the former Newport Grill. More
