We enjoyed the excellent food-- good value on the Prix Fixe menu-- three courses for $35. The regular menu was pricey, but i assume in line with other similar restaurants in the area. Foie Gras was excellent, as was the rack of lamb.

The ambiance is from a by gone age and it is quiet. We've eaten here before, but were disappointed this time round. Portions were large, but not particularly well presented. A beet, apple, hazelnut and fennel salad had large awkward slices of fennel. Fennel has a delicate taste which was overwhelmed by the other ingredients. My wife's spinach salad was...

The restaurant is charming..each room is beautifully decorated. The food was delicious and the service wonderful! We shared appetizers and the prime rib with great side dishes. We were spending the weekend in Montauk and the1770 House was recommended by a friend from home. We walked around the lovely town of East Hampton - the restaurant is on the man...

For years this was the best restaurant in EH. Sadly no longer as chef who was there for past 7 years has left and now just a tourist trap resting on previous recognition. Compared to previous offerings this menu uninspiring, prices very high for ordinary food, ambiance no longer upscale and waitstaff has an attitude - go elsewhere.
Was so looking forward to eating here and it considerably exceeded our expectations. The location, setting, food and service all made for superb evening and made my wife's 60th birthday suprise extra special.
Beautiful old clapperboard house with a restaurant and a pub tavern. We ate in the restaurant and received very attentive service from our server. My wife had been saying she wanted to try Lobster before we left East Hampton and here was her opportunity as Lobster Roll was on the menu - she wasn't disappointed! I had the Suckling Pig...

Delicious food. Upstairs is kind of boring. Downstairs Tavern has same menu plus a Tavern menu, best burger anywhere. Olive rolls rock.
Just a great experience with friendly staff and fantastic food. 1770 is a must when you are in East Hampton
Our innkeeper Victoria booked dinner for us when we made our room reservations. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special. The restaurant was almost empty at 6:30. (People eat late out here) it filled up when we were ready to leave. So we had the room all to ourselves. We started with Pumkin soup...

Small, cozy, quaint surroundings, excellent menu. Like being a guest at someone's lovely home. I had the seared scallops for dinner, which were seared to a caramelized crust on top, retaining the soft moist sweet meat of the scallop. Served over a butternut squash medley. The downstairs lounge offered the entire menu of the upstairs dining room plus a casual...
