What a great place. I'll say right off the waiter only had a few more days to work - he no longer cared - just wanted to be done working. Happily that means the only part of the experience we would change will fix itself. We saw the other waitstaff and wished they were ours! So you will be happy.... More

Snake your way toward the lake off of 80, walk through the funky gift-shop, to a little hideaway. Charming setting, right on the water. Great food, well executed. Awesome wine-list. Great servers. Cool vibe. Al fresco on a summer evening cannot be beat. HIGHLY RECOMMNEDED!

This is not a place you would find driving by. It's down a gravel road and by a boat house. We chose it based on online reviews and were not disappointed. We asked for and received a table on the lake level. The water levels were high but we didn't care - we enjoyed watching folks come and go on... More

Don't be fooled as you drive down to the restaurant into a parking area with no hint that the lake is anywhere in the vicinity. Walk through the funky shop and the bar and the lake is revealed. Great views of the lake with some boats coming and going. Fantastic tuna nachos for an appetizer. Entrees all with good grades,... More

It's easy to miss the road sign, but once you get there (either by road or by boat) you will enjoy the eclectic menu and great service. Don't forget the gift shop.

Perhaps it's not as good when crowded at dinner, but our lunch there early June was fantastic. Two of us had their hamburger and declared it was the best we had had in years. One had the BLT flatbread with what we thought might be a questionable chili sauce, but it turned our to be just great. This is the... More

We were visiting Cooperstown and The Blue Mingo Grill seemed perfect for dinner one night. I was excited to be sitting outside near the beautiful Lake Otsego. But we had to wait 1-1/2 hours (I kid you not) for our food. And it was no great shakes. My few french fries were cold (but I was so hungry I ate... More

Superb location on the lakeshore. People can come on boats and step right to the dining table. Or park their cars outside after driving past the Leatherstocking Golf Course and scaring a dozen deers without slaying them, then walk in through the gift shop. Some reviewers were unhappy with the food. Not we, not at all. Our shared starter, a... More

This would be a perfect spot to open up a nice restaurant. Unfortunately The Blue Mingo Grill is not that restaurant. We were on vacation we were in a pretty relaxed mood, but not relaxed enough to wait 20 minutes for drinks and even longer for not great food. We can overlook a lot, but you can't have blah food... Fun to visit and quaint little bar but the menu on the blackboard (which never changes) is not great. Had the worst crabcakes of my life there last year. Mosquitos in the summer can be killer. Obviously catering to the summer baseball crowd, it is only open seasonally. Service inconsistent but they don't seem to be trained adequately.
