This is ageless (I've been going there off and on for 35 years) Cooperstown stop in a classic pub/inn in the middle of town. Te specials are very reasonably priced and you get what you pay for. Decent food and no surprises. The staff managed a large group ery well.

Condescending and rude manager. As long term residents who have taken our family out to eat at the Tunicliff once per week for many years, We needed to order take out again this time. They say they offer this service, but what they omit is the fact that they'll charge you an automatic 20% gratuity fee. Although in person, I... More

My family and I eat here every week and have for years. We are local. Today, due to a broken ankle, we ordered take-out instead. We were charged an extra $3 per meal since we weren't dining in, plus a 20% gratuity charge. For what? Boxing up the food? Seriously? I think we'll be finding a new fave restaurant, since... More

The Pit offers some pretty great deals on food and its usually pretty good - I was really looking forward to the lobster tail dinner (for 14.95). But when we arrived, the waiter informed us that they were out of lobster and were substituting 1lb of crab legs in its place...hmmm...not a big fan of crab legs, so we both... More

Excellent food. We stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. Good service. Great specials. Worth stopping.

Dined here with my teen during a recent stay at the Tunnicliff Inn. Jonathan was our waiter, very friendly, prompt and knows the menu well. The place is nothing fancy by any means but serves some decent food. I had the $6 dollar dinner special which was turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, it was a good size... Quaint little place to relax and have a good meal and a few drinks. Service was fast and friendly. I like how they separate the items on the salad plate, in case you don't like everything that comes on the salad, it is easy to remove the stuff that you don't like before adding your dressing, such as carrots or... No chairs at the bar, so it's not quite a pub. (They said they,"..don't want that kind of crowd.") The sirloin steak special was a great deal. We ordered three of them, so we got a free cheese plate appetizer.(You only need to order two for the freebie.) With the 8oz. steaks comes soup or salad and a baked potato.... More

Right by the flagpole in the center of Cooperstown - very good pub-type fare - very friendly staff - also good choice for families.

We're went here off season and had a good meal at a good price. The Elk burger was very good, but they won't do it rare unfortunately. Good selection of beer also.
