Go out for dinner and for a late night cap visit the Dog Bar and meet some very interesting people! You never know what fun and games will take place. Good bar for sports and international socializing. Mr. Jimmy even likes Canucks! That is the Vancouver Canucks! More

Phu Quoc has a plethora of restaurants and resorts but only one Dog Bar. Just ONE Australian pub where you can relax with an ice-cold Bia Saigon in a cooling jacket, without having to eat food or tapas (although you can order any food you want from a nearby restaurant). Just ONE Dog Bar with the only one Jimmy, a... More

I was traveling solo around Phu Quoc and asked the locals where I could find white people and the Dog Bar was the most frequently mentioned so I went there. It doesn't have golden chandeliers or anything but it's a beach bar in Vietnam and it's your best bet in Phu Quoc to meet some friendly locals and fellow travelers.... More

This small slice of Vietnam should be stayed away from like the plague. It is owned by a later aged chauvanistic Australian man named Jimmy and is frequented by a rag tag assortment of foreign male retirees. Fight club starts at about 11:30 pm when 3 French men aged about 30 and apparently owners of a near by bar entered... More

I visited Phu Quoc in May, which is the low season - everywhere was dead! The Dog Bar was the only place with any signs of life and I had a couple of great evenings here. Drinks are reasonably priced, free pool and good music. The landlord Jimmy is friendly, sits and has beers with you, giving out non biased... More

As the founder and manager of The Dog Bar I would like to know what you base your comment " the worst bar we visited in Vietnam and we visited many could not reccomend (sic) to my worst enemy " on! There are quite a lot of bars in this country. although only a few on this island, so to... More

Yeah, great place to chill, liked the look of the place as soon as we walked in. Not an eating place, but good cold beer, darts, pool and a good atmosphere with Jimmy the landlord, highly recommended. A friend of jimmys that frequented the place when we were there had just opened a tapas restaurant across the road, tried it,loved it. Stick with these two on your... More

My friends and I stumbled upon this bar on our last eveing in Phu Quoc. It appeared to be quite quirky and original however, the service spoiled our experience and we left after one drink. Shame. More

As the title says this is a good boozer with seemingly nightly games of killer pool involving all and sundry. A lot of fun and the cause of a few headaches. More
