Ended up at Mannekepis after initially trying to go to Rio's which has now closed. This restaurant was the best food we had in Bali. Although there were plently of choices along the same street, we returned to Mannekepis 3 times during our stay in Bali. We had dinner for two, one apetizer and a main each, water, 2 fruit juices: 400.000 IDR, aka about 40 USD. Food far from being stunning, in fact I almost did not touch my side dish (potatoes with garlic or better, garlic with potatoes). You can find much better for cheaper around here (e.g. ultimo). Every time I visit Bali I MUST have dinner minimum 1 time in MannekePis. I specially like their Vlaamse Stovers (Belgian beef stew, slowly cooked in beer) with Brussels sprouts. And the escargots/snails. More

Recomended by a friend. Dropped in for a great lunch on a hot day (aircon not working but lots of fans). Great service and extensive menu. Chose two brilliant salads (tuna and chicken) which were a delight. Good cocktail list and a good wine list for Bali. Happily booked dinner 2 nights later as a local soul band were playing.... More
