I was looking forward to going to Fornos with my family. We had made a reservation for 6:30 through Opentable. We arrived at 6:25 and the place was jammed and totally out of control. Our buzzer went off and we were then told it was a mistake. The maitre de told us our table was ready only to disappear. At... More

Stopped by this place while waiting for my plane in Newark, so did not have time for a full meal but we sat down for some drinks and appetizers. The white wine sangria was very good, (and a pitcher was enormous at a pretty reasonable price). We also had the fried asparagus which was excellent. The bartender was friendly and... More

Ate at Fornos in Newark with some work colleagues. Seated right away, and they brought out a salad for the table, and a cup full of green/black olives. It was OK. I had the Pollo Villaroy (which was a breaded chicken breast (x2) with Bechamel sauce (call it a creamy white sauce- kinda lacked in flavor, IMO). Had sides of... More

All those restaurants in the Ironbound seem to serve the same food at teh same prices. Fun once, but not worth a repeat. The area is cute, though. More

I've been to Forno's more than a dozen times, probably closer to two dozen, since 2003. I'll come here with co-workers most often to celebrate someone's arrival, victory, departure, or just when we want a long enjoyable lunch or dinner. The food is excellent, I always get the shrimp in champagne sauce as my entree, and we usually get a... More
