Built on the Paulus hook graveyard from 1670, the Light Horse has a charm and authenticity, height and breadth, and excellent innovative food. The wine/beer/drink list is top notch and the waiters are well-trained. Now, if they could just get the pianist to stop playing and turn off the basketball game, it would be perfect.

Been a here several time, both food and service are always excellent. We have children, and it is very kid friendly, but there is also a balcony seating area where you can get away from the kids if you prefer. When we hosted an out-of-town guest who likes fine dining and good food, this is where we brought him, and... More

We had a Saturday brunch at Lighthorse Tavern after it was highly recommended by a co-worker as a great, dog-friendly brunch in Jersey City. We brought our four legged friend to the tables outside where the three of us enjoyed people watching on the sidewalk and made several friends as their owners walked by. Though we sat outside, the inside... More

Visited here several times before, but this time topped all the others. Walked in and there was live music playing, friendly service, and asked us where we would like to sit. Great atmosphere. The food was so tasty as well. I’m a coeliac and the waiter advised me on what I could and could not have which was very helpful... More

My wife and I have been here numerous times. Each time we have found the food and wait staff to be superb. There is a limited menu, but every choice is fantastic. I have had most of the selections on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Going again today!

Neighbourhood jem. Great food and fantastic athmosphere. Kid friendly. Suitable for breakfast, brunch and dinner. Dessert and coffee not their strongest side.

Always great food, good service, nice and quiet area of Jersey City. Nice Brunch also, and not far from Liberty state Park where you can go for a walk afterwards. Overall very pleasant, and always a good choice. Skirt steak is amazing, and so is the burger!

We love this place! It's been perfect for brunch, lunch, and dinner. We probably go at least once a month and have brought several friends and family with us. The food and service are always very good. The menu is varied enough to ensure everyone will find something he or she likes and keep customers returning. One stand out for... More

Food is always great and consistent! Atmosphere is friendly and warm, I have never had a bad meal here. The restaurant is also very kid friendly, which is great for us. We are loyal customers of the Lighthorse, and will continue to visit for many years to come.

The Lighthorse was on of the first upscale restaurants in the Paulus Hook neighborhood, and thank goodness for that. The owner did a top notch job on restoring this corner building, with beautiful two story mahogany windows and a huge bar. A vibrant bar scene, live dinner music and good food will make you a regular. It always seems a... More
