Good food, especially if you want something different or have a taste for goat. Good portions, too. There is a slight communication difficulty, but it's not a big problem.

My friend ordered salmon salad and the salmon was raw. Although many people prefer their salmon medium rare, this was literally raw. He asked the waitress if she could cook the salmon some more and 10 minutes later the salad reappeared with a completely different piece of salmon: it was the end piece, brown, dried, and tasted and smelled fishy....

I absolutely love this quaint restaurant on Main Street in Joplin! The hummus with delicious and very filling for only $4. You must try it - be sure to order extra pita if you're sharing. I've ordered The Original Gyro with Spuds all three visits and it is SO good that I can't not order it. Great atmosphere, service, and...

First time we ate at Ardes a year or so ago and I remember it being a great mom & pop place with terrific food. This last visit though was a different story. Service was hectic and somewhat forgetful. The food was just so-so. The biggest letdown was the kabob I ordered. I envision a kabob as cuts of grilled...

Bad service, wife or owner or who ever she is does not have respect for people. Food had to much oil and nothing was special about it. This place doesn't deserve a spot on main street, it should be somewhere next to a gas station or bus stop!
I've personally been to Arde's Bistry downtown 5 times. It's excellent food. The Gyros w/Chips is probably one of the best dinner values in Joplin. The service is good and friendly, though sometimes there is a wait for your food. I hear that Arde has a lot of personality and can sometimes get carried away, but personally I've never had...

The food at Arde's is so good that there just aren't words to describe it. The vegetables and herbs are as fresh as it is possible to get, and the owner will treat you like long-lost family. If you have no other reason to come to Joplin, come to try Arde's Bistro.
The gyro was excellent, and the potatoes were okay, but Arde's wife said they could not cook something special for my friend who has food allergies except for a salad. When we complained to Arde, he yelled at me right there in the restaurant. The fish and veggies were not very good. There is a gyro place at the mall...

The interior design and venue are excellent; however, the food was very salty and almost unedible. Might have been just a one time happening but it was my first time there and not sure if I want to go back.
