We went in on a Saturday night and I felt like we were the only people there. Several people helped us during our visit, including the owner!
Great views if you get to sit outside. The service was extremely friendly and prompt. The food was great for the style of restaurant. Bonus was being able to buy Grumpy Old Men items from the gift shop. Make it a point to eat here if you go to Wabasha.
This place is literally right next to the Mississippi River in the small town of Wabasha. It's impossible to over-estimate the beautiful views of the river from the tables next to the window and to a slightly lesser extent from other tables in the restaurant. The river is mesmerizing! There are a number of pictures inside the the restaurant about... More
As a Minnesotan who loved both Grumpy Old Men movies, we just had to check out Slippery's. It does not look anything like the tavern in Grumpy Old Men. I think they filmed inside, but the outside was filmed someplace else in Minnesota. This is a small Tavern, the servers were very welcoming and polite. Food was average bar food... More
Another step back in time when we got to enjoy on of the places where the Grumpy Old Men movies were based on. Fun to look at the pictures after enjoying a great meal with great service.
We were looking for a spot to have a nice lunch by the river on a Sunday afternoon. We were directed to Slippery's by a smart phone search. Great choice. The bar struck me as sort of a dive bar but the drinks were good. Once we were seated (on their deck overlooking the Mississippi) I ordered the Cajun catfish.... More
Fun atmosphere with memorabilia from the Grumpy Old Men movies. Explain the real life tie ins to the movies as well as info about the filming locations. They even have the movie playing on a tv. We recommend cheese curds, Bloody Mary and a deluxe slippery burger
The site where Grumpy Old Men was filmed. Large menu selection with very tasty food. Outside dining available on the deck facing the Mississippi River. Also has an outdoor bar area with river views.
2:15 on a Wednesday afternoon shouldn't take 15 minutes to take a drink order and another 10 to bring two drinks. The table next to us was seated 20 minutes after us with another waitress. They got their drinks and appetizer before we got a drink. ****it seems to be some if the staff are poor*** not the restaurant itself.... More
