We were touring the North Shore area and a local recommended that we go to Betty's Pies for lunch. We loved the chicken/wild rice soup, enjoyed the sandwiches, and had some very good pie for dessert. I went with the 5 layer chocolate pie and it was delicious! Some reviewers have complained about service, but we had no problems on... More

We were driving up the North Shore and saw this restaurant on our way to Split Rock Lighthouse. We decided to give it a try on our way back. When we arrived just before 2:00 p.m., it was kind of busy and within 15 minutes of being seated all the booths around us had filled in. The man who seated... More

This is a gem of a restaurant and the people who run it are very nice. My only complaint is that it's so very good that if you are anywhere near a peak season say May through October you will probably have to wait for a table at least a 1/2 hour even if your not on a breakfast, lunch... More

Been visiting Betty's for three decades. Pancakes and breakfasts are wonderful. We always buy a couple of loaves of bread as well....very tasty! We are never disappointed at Betty's, having been there when it was crowded and when almost empty. The new facility has spotty service, sometimes very good, at other times, lust so-so. I am trying to remain upbeat... More

Most people in Minnesota have heard about Betty's Pies along the North Shore, just outside of Two Harbors, along Hwy. 61 just a short 25 miles from Duluth, MN. This neat place was once very tiny and ALWAYS packed because of the famous pie selection. About five years ago, they renovated and expanded to accommodate their customers. The atmosphere is... More

We have driven from Thunder Bay at the spur of the moment just for a piece of coconut and banana cream pie, respectively. At certain times of the week/year it is really quite busy and the wait can feel unbearable...but the food is really quite good and the coffee is awesome. There are only two bathrooms and that can be... More

We stopped by on our way back to our hotel in Two Harbors for lunch. The service was absolutely terrible. Its one thing to not like your job but our waitress looked miserable and barely said five words to us. It was loud and tightly packed. There were only two of us but at the table across from us was... Wonderful pie. My family and I stop here every year on our way to Grand Marais. It's the perfect stop from the twin cities to stretch your legs and get some great food. Always busy, but worth the wait. They have added a section in the lobby where you can buy just the pie and not have to wait for... More

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Betty's Pies. The menu is not large or varied, but what they serve is done well. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was slow on the day we visited because they had a huge lunch crowd and just two servers. The slowness of the service was not due to effort. The... More
