Pub style casual food. Great food... I mean awsome, cozy atmosphere. We would go here every day if I could. Staff is awsome. Got to go here for sure...
We ate a late lunch at George and the Dragon during a family visit to Minneapolis. Our son and his lovely bride had told us about the place as a great lunch spot. We arrived around 2 p.m. - and the place was packed. We were told we'd have about a 30 minute wait so we strolled around the neighborhood... More
This place is so fantastic. Cute, bustling, upbeat, owner seating people....and that is just the start. The food is so wonderfully comforting and delicious I am already planning my next trip. Service was great, too, but back to the food. We ordered the following: Cheddar & Ale Soup with pretzel bread, Bacon & Onion Dip, an oyster special, Dragon Burger... More
Okay, they spend days making their fries (ask them about it, I couldn't possibly repeat the ridiculous process), but the result is average. Yes, crispy on the outside but very mushy in the middle. Perhaps for some but not as great as marketed. Good beer selection, very competent and helpful bar staff. Prices are high compared to the competitors. And... More
Visited Minneapolis last week. Had the occasion to dine at George and the Dragon on two occasions, lunch and dinner. This is not an upscale eatery, just a comfortable, sunny, local pub. Great assortment of beers and their homemade ginger ale is outstanding! Top off the ginger ale with a great salad (my favorite was The Elizabeth) or a wonderful... More
English style pub in the Lynnhurst neighborhood of Minneapolis. Very good beer selectionand food. The menu is fairly small, but has a good variety. If you prefer McDonald's style French fries, skip the "Chips" (they are large and on the soggy side, but have good potato taste) and have the fried green beans. My favorite go-to is the Dragon burger.... More
This was almost by accident. Standing in front of the malt shop. Ian said" I wonder what's down the street". We took a few steps and looked in the window then walked in. New and inviting we were warmly greeted by a young woman and shown to a booth. Sharp young people run the joint and it was excellent.
Belly up to the bar and say hello to Mr. Miller! Try whatever he is serving as the special brew. Bahn mi is great.... So are all the curries. Upgrade to the fried green beans.
Call ahead as they seem to be busy, but what do you expect from a small good restaurant. If it wasn't busy would you want to eat there? Beef Short Ribs---excellent, meat is so tender and the potatoes and gravy are so good. Fish & Chips, as someone that has had this in England, this was so good. Light and... More
This is a small brew pub located in south Minneapolis that has seemed to really catch on. Food-wise - they offer some great choices and twists on the British pub food. Service-wise they are still working things out, particularly if you didn't plan ahead with a reservation (STRONGLY recommended). Because of its trendy nature you can be in for a... More
