Was looking for that great "mom and pop" breakfast place to enjoy a hearty meal. This place fit the bill for the most part. We both had omelets, which were pretty good. However, the cheese was like a Kraft/Velveeta type cheese. And the grapefruit juice was a "grapefruit drink" rather than juice. A little more quality and this place would... More

The owner is soo sweet. Loved her. Very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was amazing. I had a veggie omelette that tasted very fresh and light. I didn't feel bad eating it. Will come back soon I hope.

Steve whips up real whole eggs from scratch, one order at a time in a stainless steel bowl. No prepackaged, premixed, Frank-en-eggs for him. So when your omelet arrives filling up your plate, piping hot, stuffed full of your choice of ingredients, the eggs are feather light, gently, perfectly cooked, tasting of real butter. He also precooks the filling ingredients... More

I definitely frequent this place often for the best omelets ever. They also make the swedish pancakes traditional with lingonberry just like mom did while growing up. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service is just outstanding. Visit them soon and become part of the family. You will be happy you did.

I love this place. The Swedish pancakes are fabulous. Where else can you get real roast beef or real roasted turkey. The Sunshine Cafe is truly yummy! And Young A is always friendly, which fill the restaurant with warmth. Love it!

My favorite of all local places. Steve and Young A have owned this for years. They do all the cleaning, decorating and cooking. I used to see Steven at the grocery store every night buying for the next day. Everything is homemade. Monday is a real turkey dinner special. They are open 6-3 and not for dinner. YoungA hails from... More

I can only echo the comments of a previous reviewer regarding the Sunshine Cafe in West Duluth, Minnesota. We (wife, friends) always go there for breakfast when we are visiting Duluth. The Swedish pancakes are great, and come with lingenberries as well. Fine omelets.......I recently had the bacon - cheese version. This is a locals place, and everyone is friendly.... More

When we vacation we try to eat where the locals do and not at the chains. We camp in West Duluth every year and came across this little restaurant on Grand Avenue. They serve wonderful homemade food and have daily specials. (The turkey dinner on Mondays is fabulous!) Their potatoes are real and they have great breakfasts too. They are... More
