We were there for a comedy show downstairs. It was great and there was no cover or drink minimum. I had no complaints about that. But when we went up to the restaurant/bar it was so crowded that we could not get any service for a beer. After 10 minuets of noise and waiting we left. We felt ignored, and... More

A recent weekend in South Haven began with a late Friday night visit to Black River. We were greeted with a smile and so much charm that even the kitchen being closed didn't deter us from finding a table and settling in for a couple of drinks and an amazing set by a local guitarist and singer (didn't catch his... I have to disagree with the review about this place being a downtown hangout for rednecks and hillbillies. It's a fabulous place for drinks, dancing and good food. They have great entertainment on the weekends and are always very good at making sure you enjoy your visit. There are many great places to eat and drink in South Haven and... More

This place is basically a downtown hangout for rednecks and hillbillies. The food is okay, but the crowd is terrible. Why anyone would choose this place over somewhere like Joe's or Lou's makes no sense. The only redeeming quality is a decent food menu.

Great perch. If you are looking for a 5 star restaurant...this is not your place. But if you just want a decent meal, relaxed atmosphere, and don't want to spend a fortune, this is a nice place to go. I came here with my familiy and 2 young boys for an early dinner and we enjoyed our meal.

Enjoyed hours of dancing with many others who were in town for the Women's Only Weekend! Didn't order food but enjoyed the $8 pitchers of beer.

This place has incredible burgers and our server was fantstic. It's also a great place to see some live music on weekends.

Still working out the kinks but their food is great! The perch is to die for! Limited selection of beers but they are trying hard to get established. Just there for Fall Fest and the service was slow but rather sit with a beer and wait than on the sidewalk! Give it a try.

The crab cakes with chipotle sauce, the yellow perch were wonderful ! So cute to be served in pie tons, nice and casual after a long day in the road, wait staff was most accommodating;))

There wasn't alot of nightlife to be found in South Haven in October, so we were very happy to find this place. Nice decor, fun bar vibe, great live band. There was even room to dance in front of the band, and there were pool tables in back along with dart boards so we could do more than just sit... More
