With a menu inspired by many different minority cultures (hence the name), this is the only place you need to visit to experience Lao food. It also has the best chips (french fries) in town!

Its worth a visit for some Lao food. Sometimes the service is not so good. It is on the main street, but a bit hidden on a small road.

I'm baffled that folks would write bad reviews because they don't like the freakin' spaghetti or the slow service. I don't know about you, but I don't come to a foreign country to eat cuisine from another foreign country and if you're not aware of the slow food movement, then I'm sorry for you. The Minority restaurant arguably has the... More

I had spaghetti witch is Italian and sometimes a risk in Asia. I know this, but what they gave me was the worst dish i have had in a very, very verrry long time. If i was Italian i would be so offended i would burn down the place. I ordered a bolognese and it was not even close. My... More

We got the Lao banquet which was apparently a new menu and were really impressed. All of the dishes were so different and so delicious. Paet, the owner/cook, doesn't speak a huge amount of English but is really willing to do her best to understand everything you want, and she really over delivered. We think this was our best Lao... There was a huge range of food on the menu, but nothing at all distinctive from any other place in town. We almost felt like we were intruding on their time to be wanting to order a meal. Lovely setting but thats all.

There's just no getting away from lazy, indifferent service in Luang Namtha but at least the people at Minority give the appearance of trying, putting them way ahead of almost every other place here. Set a little way off the main street, but with an unmissable sign in front of the lane, Minority is in a nice, quiet little wooden... More

The menu includes both Western and Lao dishes plus a few dishes from local tribes. The food was obviously prepared with great care. The location is hidden a bit away from the street and has nice ambiance. Main courses were 30,000LAK.
