This place really has potential...but it needs some work. There are not many restaurants have the view that this place has. The food is ok but the thing that really sticks out in my mind is how terrible the restrooms are. It has been a while since we have been back, but ever since the new owners took over the... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we entered into the Boathouse Grill since it sort of looks like an old building from roadside. The restaurant has hardwood floors, a large bar, overlooks the water, and the decor was impressive. Had the lobster bisque and it was probably the best I've had in a long time. Also had a salad that was... More

This restaurant is situated on the Manistee River, & right next to the Riverwalk. We dined there with friends on a SNOWY EVENING, & the view was so lovely. The fish dinner was delicious, served well, & in a quiet serene atmosphere. They do serve brunch at times & have outdoor service in summer.

I enjoyed my meal here in August when the weather was nice enough to sit out riverside and enjoy the view. Food was average but the atmosphere was very nice.

Clean, friendly waitstaff. Excellent pasta dishes for reasonable price. Located overlooking the waterfront.

Does pretty well for an economically depressed area, with few patrons on a weekend evening. Food was good - the bruschetta appetizer had a very good cheese. The salad I ordered was marginal - included a little piece of plastic from the wrapping that I suspect it came in. Washed down with a good beer from Grand Rapids. We asked... More

Keep going back for their soup, always good and never the same choices, varied menu makes for an interesting meal. Love their MiniMo's, tasty too.

I had read a few bad reviews on the internet before our trip to Manistee. So we ducked out of our reservations on a busy Saturday and ordered pizza from Big Al's. The next day, we grabbed lunch at the Boathouse. I had a classic cheeseburger, which was cooked perfectly, and my girlfriend had a hanger steak and cheese sandwich.... More

I dont normally give a review of a restaurant where I did not actually dine. However, in this case our party of 3 took a stroll from one end of the Riverwalk and then back. As we ended our walk, we noticed alot of people seated outside at the Boathouse and decided to have a beer on their deck outside.... More

The Boathouse Grill, while highly recommended, provided us with a very mediocre dinner. When meals are in the $15-$20 range, we expect a salad that is not directly poured out of a bag and warm food. My fried lake perch had obviously been fried long before I ordered it and the french fries were limp, greasy, and lukewarm. My coleslaw... More
