I was told it was the best planked white fish,unfortunately I think they pulled it out of the bottom of the freezer from last year. It was dry and so fishy ,it was inedible. Waitress realized I didn't eat it and said nothing,they were very friendly but food was a big disappointment.

Very good food and the service was very good also. I have eaten here before and it is always worth eating here. Casual atmosphere, but really good food.

We always make a point of eating at the Village Inn when we stay on Mackinac Island. They have delicious whitefish and a large variety of other entrees. Grab a table on the porch, if you can. We love to people watch while having lunch or dinner.

I enjoy the food at the Village Inn - it comes quickly and is consistently good. Nabbing one of the outdoor tables is a plus. For me, this is Mackinac Island eating.

They have a nice selection of beer on tap that is wonderfully cold. We had a nice amber ale from Cheboygan. The food was delicious. We had two amazing desserts - a pecan ball (vanilla ice cream covered in pecans and surrounded by dark chocolate sauce) and a delectable peanut butter/chocolate cheesecake - YUM!

We have eaten at VI for many years and it always lives up to our expectations. The food and the service are always as we remembered from the previous visit and the prices are affordable.

We have always loved eating at Village Inn. This past year Village Inn was bought by the Grand Hotel and they take great pride in their food. It has always been a great place for food and that hasn't changed. Great staff...fun environment...great food...much quieter in the winter.

We go to Mackinac Island at least once and sometimes twice a year, and always eat at the Village Inn. We love it! Great food, friendly service, fun atmosphere. They're known for their planked whitefish, but offer a large variety of menu items and range of prices. A personal favorite is their whitefish pate'...yum!

although the planked whitefish is the signature entree here, there's great beef and seafood, too. Pizza is good. The whitefish chowder is worth a visit on its own merit.
