We wanted a light snack when when arrived in Leland. We spotted the sign for sandwiches and decided to give it a try. This is a small deli with no tables. All sandwiches are one price which was great. You can grab a bottle of wine, cheese, chips and cold drinks to go with your sandwich. We decided on a... More

Get a sandwich for a Lake Michigan picnic or road trip. Or buy some of the delicious cheese and get some smoked fish from Carlson's. They have local fruit jams that are a must try. Beverages too.

A small cheese shop in Historic Fishtown. The sandwiches they sell are HUGE! If you aren't really hungry 2 people could share. They have several options--but will make up any kind of sandwich--including the bread that you like! (bread is baked there) The meat and cheese are A-1. I had a roast beef and cheese on a Kaiser Roll ,... More

The Village Cheese Shanty deli sandwiches are worth going out of your way. We especially like the pretzel bread. If you are not a hearty eater, they are large enough that you can easily split one. The staff is very nice. If you like, they will prepare your order in advance so you don't have to wait.

We have been coming to Leland for years and never tried this deli but after reading the reviews in Trip Advisor, decided to give it a try. Wonderful selection of different types of sandwiches: pita, baguette, regular and pretzel bread. My husband and I both had our selection on pretzel bread which was great, just the right amount of salt.... More

I first went here, when I began to summer here 3 years ago and it has not changed a bit: the charming facade and harbor location are wonderful. I have heard the sandwiches are good but I believed the sign: the cheese selection: oh, I am going to find some great local cheeses in here! or maybe some gourmet cheeses,... More

Often find establishment doesn't live up to it's hype. Other than having to park half a mile away, need exercise anyhow, was worth drive off beaten track? Judging by the crowd, not really. Line not too long, friendly staff and fill orders quickly. Got two picnic lunches and drove south to first lake with tables( across from dunes). Very good,... More

Great sandwiches! Can get busy at lunch time in the summer, but well worth any kind of wait. Grab a sandwich and head to the beach!
