This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had, in Lansing or otherwise. I'm fairly certain that the only reasons this poorly lit, antiquated establishment is still in business is because the majority, if not all, of its patrons are frequenters of the next door strip club who have built up an appetite objectifying women all night.... Service was exceptional. Our waiter was great. We were there on business, eight in our party, and received great service and attention. Average cost $40/ person. Small dining area; make a reservation. We arrived early for our reserved time and the table was ready. We were told that our table had a reservation after our party, and we were not... More

The bread was okay, soup was cold and thick as pudding, cesar salad was drenced, lobster tail very small, steak was cold with no seasoning added, hash browns very greasey, dessert was a rotton banana with scoop of ice cream with sauce from a can for 15 dollars. The restaurant is very small and had only one server who mixed... More

dated atmosphere, overpriced, small dining area and not very friendly service. one of the male waiters definitely needs to retire. couldn't believe how he could such a simple order wrong, and then acted like it wasn't his fault. More

The occasionally have a special steak that is the biggest T Bone steak I have ever seen. Couldn't eat it all and I like to eat. And a very nice wine list. More

This is an intimate steakhouse with a traditional vibe. Even though we used a Groupon for this prix fixe meal the service was excellent. The filet was one of the best I've had. My husband had the whitefish and proclaimed it excellent. We did not have reservations but that was not a problem as we went early (5:30). The smokiness... More

First, let me say that we enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. There are approximately 13 tables/booths total. The seating is European style-super intimate-even with people you've never met. If this bothers you, ask for a booth or 'secluded' table when you call ahead to make reservations. We loved the atmosphere as it was dark and cozy, and we like... More

Knight Cap has been here for over 40 years! they are doing something right. We have been there in the past and loved it; after our dinner last night decided to say so on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is very small, very dark, very intimate with wonderfully attentive staff and excellent food We each had a filet...it was perfect. More

I couldn't help notice that the last couple of reviewers commented on how close the tables are and how the wait people kept brushing up against them. The Knight Cap is indeed a very small restaurant. There are only 12 tables and therein holds its charm. The tables are close together and sometimes you may even strike up a friendship... More

Some old college buddies (from the late 60s) and I meet at a E. Lansing area restaurant for dinner once or twice a year. This year we went to the Knight Cap. The place was small and packed with men from the Ag. Business Convention and close to Omar's Topples Bar. We knew going in that it would be more... More
