The menu at Blue Heron is filled with new interpretations of classic breakfast and lunch dishes. Somewhere between a small town Diner/ Bakery and a big city cafe. I have been here several times, and the only thing that is inconsistent is the potatoes, which are tricky at the best places. Everything baked is great, the sandwiches are interesting enough... More

I frequent this lunch spot at least twice a month, they serve good quality products. Market salad, Nature Lovers salad and most of their sandwiches are usually really good. A couple times I received over-crisp bread (aka burnt), so I always ask for lightly toasted now. They have different soups of the day also. More

This is our go-to place when we are at our cottage. Sandwiches are served on homemade sourdough and are creatively assembled with unique ingredients. Try the Tuscan Ham and Cheese--you won't be disappointed! Good breakfast, good service, good bakery items, too. More

Not only is the food excellent but you get a generous portion and never leave the restuarant still feeling hungry. The pastry shelf is also loaded with very good baked goods from cookies to baked bread. The only thing I don't like is they are only open for breakfast and lunch. The establishment is in an old building thus giving... More

Check out the omlettes - ham, cheese and apples, for instance! Great baked goods and a friendly staff. Pick up some bagels on your way to ski! More

You must have a cookie as you have not had the best cookie till you eat one from here. Try the home made bagels... Fresh donuts. This is a great deli restaurant too. More

Cozy, nice view of lake, same staff year to year. I didn't pick the 5 star review this time, because there was an odd unpleasant smell in the dining room. Maybe cow manure? More

We always have to stop for donuts or bagels at least once when we are in the area. Delicious! They have muffins, danishes, bread, cookies, etc. as well as coffee and hot breakfast and lunch items. They also do birthday cakes, wedding cakes, catering and much more! Family owned with a quaint, small-town atmosphere where the staff is always friendly... More

I had the smoked salmon sandwich and it was available on gluten-free bread; THAT NEVER HAPPENS at your normal, meander-in diner experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. While the decor and atmosphere is low key but pleasant, the food is freshly prepared and the regular baked goods are a big draw. More

We've had enjoyable breakfasts and lunches here before, so when we took our Florida nephew on a day trip to northern Michigan we thought this would be a great place to stop for breakfast. We walked in to see a knot of people crowded around the bakery counter, demanding service, so we were prepared to wait a bit until they'd... More
