Have been to Student Prince in Sprinfield any times but never to this gem until this most recent trip this past weekend. Loved it. Portions huge. Ordered the Sauerbraten and Haufbrauhas Platt along with make at your table ceasar salad. We thought to have the German Choco Cake for dessert but just couldn't without bursting. Got a tour and had... More

Growing up in Western Ma. The Hofbrauhaus was always a special treat. Servers in Liderhosen and as authentic German as you can find. Food was great and it was always packed. It's now Hofbrau Joes German Steakhouse. No idea who Joe is but judging by the tings named Joe it's pretty much about him.Similar menu items though there are more... More

BE VERY WARY, I was there the other night, asked 2 taste their Bloody Mary mix they make themselves, thought it was ok, ordered 1. When the bar tender went 2 pour it, a clump of somethng fell in the glass. When he pulled it out, it was a DEAD Mouse. I'm not joking. I have witnesses. We've been going... More

Another great German restaurant - this place and the East Side in CT are both very good - each having their own selection of beers and German foods from different parts of the country. The Hofbrauhau is in a nice old neighborhood - traditional of America years ago - the food is very hot and authentic likewise is the beer..

I'm sorry to see poor reviews, as this restaurant gives so much more value than many chain restaurants that charge nearly as much. You absolutely cannot beat the atmosphere/ambience! I've been here scores of times and have never once been disappointed. The beer menu is awesome and not over-priced. Sure, a few items might seem a bit pricey, but again,... More

Great wines and authentic German food. Bit higher costs but worth it. Very close to the Big E and the hotel near it. During the fair period we still found seating within reasonable time. Try this during your next stay in this area.

We have enjoyed coming here once a year when we go to the Big E. We had always enjoyed it in the past. Unfortunately this year it was a big disappointment. They didn't have the wine we ordered. The spetzle was fried. My pork shank had a heavy gloppy sauce on it. My husband did not enjoy his meal either.... More

What a disappointment. Pricing was always a bit high, but previously, the cost equated to reasonably fast, friendly service and an above average to great meal. Now, for $24, one can expect to be served luke warm, al dente spetzle and soggy veal (as a result of being buried under a terrible burgandy wine sauce). Service was slow, awkward and... More

I will not be eating there any time soon! When I found out they REUSE the cheese from table to table I was disgusted! They scrape all the left over cheese from tables and reserve them! Also the glasses are filthy so isn't the silverware!!! Waitstaff was nice but as of the bartenders not so much!!! Place is going down... More

We used to love going to the Hofbrauhaus for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. but not so much any more. First of all, the name change from Hofbrauhaus to "Hofbrau Joes" is ridiculous and sounds like a cheap mix of Hofbrauhaus and Eat at Joes or Joes Crab Shack. They no longer wear the authentic German garb anymore which was a nice... More
