The waitress was very rude, almost condescending - said she could make any cocktail but then needed instructions on how to make something basic. BUT THE WORSE WAS THE SLLLLOWW SERVICE. We didn't ask for anything complicated (the menu is pretty bland anyway), but somehow it took around 45 minutes to come out of the kitchen. This place is extremely...

Hugely civilized, beautiful surroundings, excellent lunches, attentive service by a knowledgeable waiter. Broad menu and wine selection; service speedy but not rushed. Could do without -- here and everywhere -- waitress who spoke babytalk to group of older guests at next table. We visit the near-by Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum with visitors often, and this is always our lunch venue.
I bought a 55 dollar prime steak, the meal was undercooked and never tasted quite right. My wife ordered crab cakes and stated that it was good. The staff was good. I also had breakfast twice. That was great. Just wish the steak was better, for that price.. my expectations were very high and were not met.
The ambiance, service and food are simply fantastic. Try the water mans hash for breakfast and for dinner try the Red Snapper or the Scallops. Divine! The service is great, professional and friendly. Be sure to visit the pub and have the chicken piccata, the best I have ever had.
Normally we do not eat dinner at hotels. We chose to eat here because we had a relatively long drive and were tired. We ate early and had a great table with a gorgeous water view. Out waiter was outstanding--great sense of humor, knowledgeable about the area, and very helpful with the menu. I had the red snapper-- delicious. My...

We went here for dinner with a couple of friends on a Saturday evening. First off, if you want to make a reservation for dinner here, it's probably better to do it over the phone rather than OpenTable. When I tried making it with OpenTable, the only time I could get was 8:30 pm and we wanted a 6:30 pm...

We recently stayed at the inn and had the chance to dine here twice. The meals were excellent both times. Our first night we had dinner and really enjoyed sitting in the mail dining room that overlooks the water. Each course we had was well prepared and innovative. Our second meal was Easter brunch. The selection on the Buffett was...

Easter brunch at Sherwood's Landing was a long-standing family tradition. As soon as we booked our table, in January if they'd let us, we all began salivating at the thought of their sublime crab cakes. Sherwood's is picey and brunch is no exception, but we all thought it worth the splurge. Sadly,no longer.
When we made our reservation this year,...

We had a lovely dinner here during their March jazz night. The service was very good, food delicious and atmosphere charming. It was actually quite full which gave a buzzy, upbeat feel to the room, yet it didn't slow down the service or the quality. We enjoyed all of the dishes we had and already look forward to going back.
