In the summer there is no parking as there are so many families here visiting from places all over the world. It closes for the fall/winter/spring. Beautiful harbor of five islands has working boats coming in with the lobster you will eat. Outdoor picnic tables and packages of hand wipes make it the informal feasting it is meant to be.... More

The absolutely perfect lobster purist experience. You order your lobster with all the fixins' and eat it on picnic tables on the deck overlooking one of the most beautiful coves in midcoast Maine. Superb food. Great atmosphere. The best view of ANY restaurant in the area. Wear a light jacket if any month other than July or August since the... More

Lobster just doesn't get any fresher than this unless you eat it on the boat. A little expensive and quite a drive (good 20 miles driven to get there) but well worth it for the food, scenery, and experience. We selected our lobsters which are caught locally, held in seawater pumped from below the wharf and then steamed in seawater.... More

We had the good fortune to eat here for lunch, upon the recommendation of our friends (Maine natives). We loved the outdoor picnic atmosphere and lovely scenery. Our friends brought a picnic basket with cheese, crackers, and fresh veggie snacks, which perfectly complemented the fried oysters, steamers, and lobster we bought at Five Islands - all of which were THE... You can get everything from whole steamed lobsters to ice cream here, but if you don;t try one of the lobster rolls, you are missing a treat worth every penny. We got them with drawn butter, sat a picnic table overlooking the water and were in heaven. More

Scallops and haddock were very fresh and tasty with a really light batter, however the fries were horrible and a real let down - obviously frozen, overcooked (hard not crispy) and tasteless. Staff friendly and helpful and service very quick. More

What can you say about a true Maine Lobster shack experience. I'm not sure if the location and ambiance adds sweetness to the fresh lobster but it doesn't hurt. I've been here during warm sunny days as well as a foggy cool afternoon and both days were mobbed with tourists. The lobster rolls are packed with fresh sweet lobster on... More

We stopped mid-afternoon after visiting Reid State Park. We had dinner plans, so we didn't want to do lobster, but my teens were starving after playing in the cold water at the beach. They had the fish chowder and french fries and LOVED the chowder. My husband and I each had an ice cream cone from the building next door... More

We stopped here on the drive from Portland to Bar Harbor, Maine. This stop is well worth getting off the beaten path. The view is amazing, the lobster mouthwatering and the service is friendly. There is an ice cream shop if you still aren't full after that big, fresh lobster. They catch the lobster and cook it for you and... More
