So sorry you had a bad experience. I appreciate hearing your criticisms so that I can correct the issues. I will stress the importance of tasting food (hummus and baba ganouj) to ensure it is seasoned properly and up to par. I assure you that we continue to use Smith Family Farm local yogurt, unless it is unavailable in which... More

Our first time to their new location further up Main St. We were anxious to see all the changes & it definitely will work for breakfast & lunch. It is part Maine Grind, & part Cleonice minus the charm & atmosphere of the old place. Really miss the fabulous bar. They have a pizza oven, but there was only 1... More

We were fans of the old Cleonice....loved the atmosphere of the old spot. Visited this week and left leaving a little uncertain if we were eating at Cleonice or the Maine Grind.....The atmosphere was perfect for breakfast (which we were there for) or for lunch. However, I'm not sure about having dinner there. The room is open and acoustics not... More

I've eaten at Cleonice at their original location (down the street from the Maine grinder) and had a great meal the first time we went there last year. The second time we went towards the end of last year...the bouillabaisse was lukewarm but tasty (for being lukewarm). THEN we recently ate at the Maine Grinder (with cleonice staff) so I'm... More

Invited by friends the last time in early Nov, we will not be returning. New to the Ellsworth area, my wife and I had heard some people we spoke with, praise Cleonice. Frankly I have been left scratching my head in wonder. I must be missing something. The space Cleonice was in (apparently they have moved) was charming indeed. But... More

Cleonice moved from Main Street and into the Maine Grind (a coffee shop) up the street. The fun of Cleonice was the atmosphere...very Mediterranean. The din of people is now deafening and it's open and not intimate anymore. You are right next to the line ordering sandwiches and coffee from the Maine Grind. I had the Pete's chopped salad which... Cleonice is our favorite restaurant in Ellsworth. In fact, we think it is competitive with the best restaurants on MDI. We love their use of fresh and locally grown ingredients. And the Mediterranean twist on most of their specials is always fun and good. The old art deco atmosphere adds to the dining experience. This is a good place.

Excellent wait staff, great atmosphere. My wife had the New York strip (excellent) and I had Arthur's chicken (delicious). It was our first time here, and it is their last night at this location. Staff seemed sad, but excited for their move! Great drinks and would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great night out!! Two thumbs... More

Just some feriends out for nice wine and a good meal and it hit the spot. The atmosphere was nice, rustic, more French in feel. The main physical feature in the biestro is the incredibly beautiful old bar! The food was very good, freshly prepared and tasty. I had the paella, two had the beef (small plate), another had the...
