I know it's supposed to have an old fashioned feel to it but it just felt over done. It's just not comfortable in there and the food is just average.

We got the Irish nachos to start which are french fries smothered in cheese, bacon and green onions with a side of ranch. Very good. My hubby got a chicago polish dog, my kids got cheeseburgers and I got a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was very nicely cooked and it all tasted great! We'll be back!

Schoop's has the best burgers around. Fresh hand-pressed burgers to order. Love the soups - all homemade. Hand-dipped milk shakes are the best. Monday is $2 shakes. Gotta try the Irish Nachos. They also have the best breakfast in town. The servers are excellent, very friendly and efficient regardless what time of the day you go there. Portage Schoop's rocks!

I decided to head to Schoops to have one of the famous burgers. My husband had the chili, and the irish nachos. His chili was a dissapointment. It basically tasted like canned hormel chili. The chili was topped with canned nacho cheese, and onions. Wendy's chili is much, much, much better. The irish nachos are fries topped with the same... More

Truly the best hamburgers. Cool place, that looks like an old train car. Decorated with nostalgic pics inside...makes you feel like you're in an old diner. Quick service---their unique crispy burgers are the best. Breakfast is great too. Love going there, especially since it's all non smoking now.

The hamburgers are thin, and large. So, not a lot of meat for their size. Big buns, too big for my tastes. Fries are frozen, but cooked right. Atmosphere is pseudo 50s, but they don't try too hard to make it look or feel authentic. In sum, a go-to place if you want a burger or chili, but not a... More
