In an artful, warm setting featuring reproductions of 15th century Italian murals, the contemporary Cafe serves dishes reminiscent of authentic Italian sidewalk eateries and trattorias. Chicago Magazine said, “This stylish Cafe sends out lively versions of regional classics…topnotch handmade pastas, fine main courses, and the best tiramisu and ice creams in town.

Had a 6 course dinner with a group of friends in one of their private rooms. Very interesting courses, portions somewhat on the small size. Truly a place for a special occasion, even so, am not sure it is worth the exorbitant price. Service was great.

My wife and I recently dined at this restaurant. Five stars! We had the tasting menu with wine pours. Also a half bottle of Pierre Peters Les Mesnil champagne. Dinner started with drinks at the bar. Great bartender. We moved on to a six course dinner with top notch wines. Highlights for me was the fois gras (no longer available... More

Enjoyed this casual and elegant lunch spot after a day of shopping at Barney's, etc. Carefully prepared plates of wonderful pastas and fresh fishes. We ate here twice. The servers could use a little more polish.

. . . and it won't be my last time. We were treated like royalty to (1) Scallops - This is What Heaven Must Taste Like! (2) Gnocchi di pane - Melt in your mouth tender and fresh! - (3) Lamb with Crusty Polenta and My Lady had the fresh fish. - We agreed that the one thing in common... More

Early dinner for two. Grand view, great food, and impeccable service. The pasta tasting menu was superb. The classics tasting menu was, well, classic!

Spiaggia consists of 2 restaurants, right next to each other. We ate at the cafe because the food comes from the same kitchen but the prices are more reasonable. The food was delicious and the presentations innovative. The portions are not large, but adequate. The service was excellent and the decor is a blend of classical and trendy that works.

It's all about the art and experience of dining. The quality is high, the service knowledgable and exquisite. The food and drink menu are well curated and fairly balanced - especially in terms of rounding out courses with filing proteins. I'd say the portions are only small if you order only a single course, or arrive expecting to stuff your... More

If you want to spend a lot for tiny exquisite portions, this is your place. Be prepared to have a midnight snack after dining here. The quality is high, and the wine list is excellent, but the service is sometimes so slow as to be atrocious. It's a special occasion place, but you can't count on it to be fun.

We ate at Cafe Spiaggia. Recommend you start with a drink at the main restaurant's bar. Expensive but worth it. The Cafe tries a little too hard to be trendy (wild boar gnocchi...) but is quite good. Cheaper than the main restaurant but by no means cheap.

I had previously dined at the Cafe a few years earlier and had a fabulous meal - dining at the main dining room was something that I had been looking forward to for literally years. Service was very kindly provided. I had a salad to start - fresh and crisp, but lacking in flavour - had to ask for salt... More
