If you want a quick, cheap and tasty meal this is place is perfect. Food was good value for money and it looked like a place the locals go, which is always a good sign!
We were a little exhausted after walking around the beautiful city of Chicago and being Aussies needed a beer to give us a little energy. We decided to do lunch as well - wow are we ever so glad we did! The food is cheap, the servings are huge and were the best meals we have had in our whole... More
Kind of gruff service who weren't patient if you didn't know the menu or the ordering process. Steak was poor quality - leathery and tough. Excellent hamburger - huge and a tasty mix of toppings - mushrooms, cheeses, bacon, and so much lettuce that you'll have to take some off if you want to take a bite. Had kernel corn... More
We came here by coincidence looking for a quick bite, but no fast food. Very friendly people, amazing deep pan pizza, excellent price quality ratio.
My mother and I had a long walk and badly needed to sit down to eat something at 3ish in the afternoon. We were not looking at fast food, and we run into Ronny's Original Chicago Steakhouse. It was a good size restaurant with nice decoration, and there were quite a few tables occupied at 3p.m., so I thought it... More
They will not likely ever be rated as haute cuisine, but I doubt they stay up nights worrying about it. This restaurant is designed to take your order, get you generous proportions of reasonable food, at a good price, and get you out the door to make room for the next customer. They do this very well and are very... More
Went here for breakfast an was impressed. It is casual line style cafeteria with booths to sit at. I ordered breakfast that was 8.99. It came with homemade seasoned hash browns, eggs, large steak, and four thick slices of French toast. It was delicious and great value! Highly recommend
This place has daily specials. I dropped in when I say the "Mile High Meatloaf" special - two thick slices of meatloaf, mixed vegetables, salad, mashed potatoes/gravy, and garlic toast for $8.99. Delicious! It is cafeteria-style. Most of the customers were not eating steak. Also, a lot of people were drinking a punch with a hugh slice of watermelon in... More
This place is an authentic American eating, big steaks, wide choice cooked in front of you, locals eating with tourists, fantastic breakfeasts very good value child friendly polite service, diffinatly not the poshist place but for a midday or early dinner best place to go compaired to much more expensive eating houses
Went there to have dinner on a weekday. And had a Polish sausage with fries. I don't have any serious complaints about the place. It is definitely not a top class steakhouse but still one of the best and cheapest eateries in downtown Chicago. It is in a sense a historic place. It's been around since 1963, so there is... More
