We are a big fan of Paglias Pizza. The pizza is great and they have a very good home made salad dressing. We like this place so much we travel several hours to Carbondale just for the pizza here. It is also very clean and updated.
Pags as it called by the natives is the best. Always crowded with locals as well as Salukis. Thick crust here is the best. They use tons of toppings and always have frosted mugs for your beer.
Their pasta specials are a good deal. But I really love their Joe's Special pizza. It is a bit pricey, but otherwise, certainly worth it.
I have lived in southern Illinois for 30+ years, and I just tried Paglias for the first time a few years ago. If you like thin pizza, Pag's is the place. In 2010, they relocated to a new building and they have an "open kitchen" where you can watch your pizza being made from start to finish. When we visit... More
Thick or thin in a pan, either way. The pizza is really good. Beer is still too warm, even in the dead of winter. Management has been informed of this and they still don't fix it. Here's the deal, if you like thin pizza you go to Pag's, if you like deep pan then you go to Quatros. It is the constant debate in Cdale and will be forever I imagine. Now both are hugely popular but a general consensus is the Kid's prefer quatros and locals prefer pags but it is argued about all the... More
Why such a title? Because so many pizza places have ovens that simply suck the pie in one side and spit it out on the other when the right cooking time is done. There is nothing wrong with that, but when I ate a Paglias, I watched as the pizza cooks went to the oven to check on the pies.... More
Pagliai's pizza has a great flavor! I used to love it thick on a brick, but it was just a little too crispy. Thick in a pan is just right. Also, their house salad (with Pagliai's own sweet vinaigrette) is a must!
For my job I travel all over the world and USA. I eat out ALOT. I went to school at SIUC and at times that can been a wild time when the strip gets taken over, however I have never been kicked out of a joint, until now..' A few friends from the SIU day took a trip down to... More
