You can expect food made from scratch to your liking, and entree's you won't find at your typical curry in a can Indian Diner. We discovered this restaurent 2nd day in Boise and gave it a go tonight. Family run restaurent serving traditional Indian dishes but wow what a difference to back home in the UK in the preparation of the dishes! Really wholesome organic food - freshly cooked - hence the wait guys! (good food dishes take time to prepare!). Very welcoming and... More

We went there for dinner on a weekend. The restauant was not full, hardly 2-3 tables already eating. Starting from seating us at the table to being getting served, it all happened at a very very slow pace. Since we were not in a hurry so we didnt mind it but they certainly were very slow. The food was excellent... More

My husband and I ate dinner here and enjoyed the service and the excellent Indian food. We shared a tasty curry and a good shrimp dish and enjoyed leisurely, friendly service. An elegant evening out! I joined a friend recently for the lunch buffet and liked the variety, including the naan. The buffet is reasonably priced and offered many choices,... More

We were headed to another downtown Boise restaurant and discovered it was closed. The Taj Mahal was open and had a lunch buffet going on so we tried it. Dishes from the menu were also available but the buffet had a wide variety of dishes, including salad and dessert and was inexpensive, so why not do the buffet? Everything was... More

I came in for lunch with a friend and there was unbussed tables everywhere. A few chafing dishes with scraps of food sat under a heat lamp crusting over. After 5 minutes a man came from the back and seated us. He said we could eat from the buffet and his cook wasn't back yet. We got up and left.

This little, family owned Indian Restaurant is tucked away in the second floor of the Eighth Street complex in Boise, Idaho. There are tons of food choices downtown, but nothing like this. The Taj Mahal offers great Indian cuisine for all types--including vegetarian and vegan. Don't worry though, there are plenty of traditional meat dishes available too. They have amazing... More

I called an order in at 7pm and was told food would be in 20-30 minutes. At 7:30 I showed up and food was not ready. No big deal. I was told it would be 10 more minutes and left to run an errand. At 7:50 I came back and food was not ready. I was told food would be... More

Taj Mahal is always excellent, and sometimes it is completely out of this world. The last couple fo times I've eaten there, it was not just hte best Indian food I've ever had, it was among the best food I've ever had. The various samosa's are flavoral and perfectly cooked. The Rogan Josh, in fact, all of the curries are... More

This place is great! I'm vegetarian so I eat a lot of Indian food. In little Boise, Idaho, Taj Mahal is as good as the best Indian restaurants I've visited in Paris, New York, and D.C. The flavors are so deep that even heated way up (everything is made from scratch), you can pick out the spices like you were... More
