I'm a local in Ellijay and had been visiting here for years. The service and quality of food has been in a serious decline for the past year. The gumbo was inedible, the seafood was overcooked until rubbery, the slaw was brown, terrible. To top it off, our waitress never brought us drink refills, even after we asked. We'll never... More

This was my second visit to the Jolly Roger Seafood Market and Restaurant. I am a full time Ellijay resident and the best thing I can say about the place is that the seafood is fresh. I ordered Grilled Snapper. What I received was blackened snapper. When I returned it to the chef I was informed that it was grilled.... More

With only 8 tables, let that be a hint to how intimate the Service will be. The staff was warm and friendly, but we didn't come to see them, we came for the food! My wife had the shrimp and I had the flounder- we expected something a step or 2 above Cap't D's---- No Way!!! These dishes were AWESOME!... More

My rating of this restaurant would be much higher, if service were not so horrible! We continue going to Jolly Roger and continue to love the food and the "tacky cute" decor. HOWEVER, the service continues to go down hill! It gets worse every time we go!!!!!! We watched one of the waitresses clean a table, where a couple had... More

Nice to have this available away from the ocean. Haven't eaten in for a while, usually purchase fresh fish from their fresh fish market and take it home. Arrived "late" one evening, 7:40 p.m. and the doors were locked! Sign says they are open until 8 pm. Customers still inside, can't understand why they'd turn away a customer. Wasn't happy... More

We try to hit the Jolly Roger whenever we're in Ellijay. It's a tiny little hole-in-the-wall that isn't strongly interested in attracting tourists. And a seafood restaurant in the north GA mountains? But it's a gem; a little seafood market attached to a tiny diner. Lots of fried fare, but look around and you'll find plenty of more imaginative dishes.... More

Both a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant and a seafood market. Everything on the menu is excellent but a little pricey for the locals. Evening meals are outstanding with really great specials most evenings. They are only open Thursday - Sat for lunch and dinner.

We were heading up to Elijay to pick apples in the fall and wanted to grab a bite in the area. I had seen the reviews of Jolly Roger and decided to give it a try. It exceeded our expectations - a reminder that you can't judge a book (or a restaurant) by its cover. It reminded me of a... More

While spending a long weekend away from Atlanta in a cabin up in N. Georgia, we were looking for a gourmet grocery or butcher to purchase some items to make dinner back at the cabin. We were told about Jolly Roger by a local. Not much to look at from the outside, but they have TONS of fresh seafood inside...Salmon,... More
