We dined there several times. The staff and management were great. The pork dishes were dry, over cooked, and tasteless.
The good news is that the food was pretty good. I ordered the schnitzel with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The schnitzel was good and fresh. Don't order a salad unless you like iceburg lettuce. It was a pitiful salad. They should at least get some romaine or something. I also ordered the potato pancakes. They were very good.... More
I am from Germany, and my husband and I ate here with our kids. The staff is very friendly, but there is not a lot on the menu for vegetarians, which I am. My husband found his Schnitzel to be average, and I wish there would have been more baked goods.
I have German heritage and I've been looking for a decent German restaurant in Tampa. Hadn't found a good one up to now. When you pull up to this place you may think twice about going in. It's not pretty. That said, boy were we glad we went in. Owned by a family from Germany, they are very pleasant and... More
Great German food and Beer. The German pancakes were excellent as well as the beer and food. The waitress was really friendly as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Not sure why this restaurant is ranked at this level in Trip Advisor.. Well my husband and I went there based on the rating here and we had one of the most terrible experience. The place was very dirty and kind of run down. The windows, floor and plastic table covers were all sticky. We order a special chicken but... More
Best German food I've had since I lived in Germany 4 years ago!!! We are new to the area and will definatly be going back to this place!!
Amazing food, beyond friendly and courteous staff, and biergarten music on the stereo. What a gem. We enjoyed sausage, scnitzel, spatzle, red cabbage and everything was so authentic. Did we mention the free beer? Great food, we will be back. Soon. Thanks Nick!
"We don't have beer and wine license, so we offer them for free", we were told by the waitress/owner. What can be wrong about it? Also, the food tastes great and authentic. It's pretty basic, but German food is not supposed to be fancy. Maybe not the most suitable place for a romantic dinner date, but it is definitely worth... More
The German Bistro is honestly one of the best places I've been to for German food outside of Germany itself. I spent 6 years in Germany and had some of the best food they had to offer. It's been hard to find good German food since I returned but this place comes about as close as you can get. I've... More
