Ate in the bar area during happy hour. Great wine list and nice drink and food specials for happy hour. Food and service were very good. Would definitely go back.

We visit family in Sanibel often, and a real treat is getting fresh fish that's well prepared. On our most recent visit to Traders, our party had Sea Bass and Grouper. All of us were delighted. It was well prepared, cooked to perfection, and beautifully plated with fresh vegetables. Some of us had a side of crab risotto which was...

Having read some of the comments from other reviewers, I can only say that my wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner at Traders.
I'm sure that serving staff sometimes take their cue from their customers and if you treat them with respect, then the evening goes well. Ours did.
We had no problems with the order, no problems...

We sat at the bar and had drinks and appetizers. We found the other customers to be just delightful and very outgoing, we had a great time making small talk over drinks. The bartenders were solid, too. I ordered Oysters Casino and Oysters Florentine, and then the seared ahi. i forget what my wife ordered, but she enjoyed it...even ordering...

Dinner on May 7th. Food good - if you like service with a poor attitude this is the place. Our server a blond 45-50ish stocky guy with a poor attitude, very abrupt like he was doing us a favour, so we tipped accordingly. However, he followed us into the shop attached to the restaurant to and asked my husband if...

so we chose trader's for my birthday dinner, due to recommendations of friends. Service was ok,though she made us feel as if we were at McDonald's. She never came back to check on our entrees. I ordered Macadamia encrusted grouper. This wasn't grouper.....it was some flat, frozen fish. I am guessing some sort of sea bass. Grouper is fat and meaty....

We had dinner at Traders on May 1, 2013 and were pleasantly surprised. I had read good reviews and I decided to drag ( bring :<) ) my husband there. We might have just driven by as it does not have alot of outside appeal so the reviews were a reason for the choice of this establishment over many on...

We had only 1 night in Sanibel and some locals we met in a bar, recommended Traders. Casual Southern Florida / Caribbean vibe. Hawaiian shirts, live steel drum, Jimmy Buffet type music. Doesn't look much from the outside, but great inside. The Gumbo and Gazpacho were fantastic so were both fish dishes ordered. Rather than dessert, we opted for dessert...

6th trip in 3 months--the chef does fish superbly--only place we can get pompano--his meat dishes are always accompanied with lightly seasoned sauces--not many chefs in this area understand light seasoning--many use a lot of pepper and hot seasoning and kill the food--not this chef!!!
We chose Trader's w/o knowing a lot about it. Everything from the atmosphere to the service were excellent. The menu has such a wide variety that there is something for everyone. We took my 2 yr old and they were very accommodating to families. I highly recommend this place. I plan to return.
