We went on a local shelling cruise and part of the trip was to take us to lunch at Barnacle. It is an older restaurant and were told it has been in business for 30 years. This place is under new ownership since 2011, and in addition to being renamed "Barnacles" the menu claims it he's been remodeled, rejuvenated and refreshed. Fabulous atmosphere & great service! Just a small boat trip away from Captiva Island! The ride over with the wildlife is terrific!

Best scallops outside of New England. I HIGHLY recommend asking for something not on the menu: fried scallop basket. They can not always oblige as they sometimes do not have enough stock....that is a good sign! Don't forget the rice & beans plus some plantains. Had lunch here after cruise. Food was good but even better was our server, Amber. Very friendly and efficient!! Definitely worth the trip for a fun time.

BP's as we call it is still good. New owners and it seems to have dropped the Phil's moniker, but the food is still good and the location is terrific. Be careful of the lunch crowds on certain days (big boats with lots of people). Conch fritter and a beer were my favorites.
