You will be overhwhelmed by this very unprepossessing dining establishment which outwardly does nothing to inspire. As you enter you will be transported in to another world of grace and charm reminiscent of the left bank of the Seine in Paris. Once you have enjoyed the decor and furnishings you will be captured by the spectacular food. Be cautious in... More

Quirky decor, pleasant greeting and service, good food. We plan to return. N.B.: I find the review won't "take" unless I check all entries. "Not applicable" or "no opinion" should be added. Eg., "Romance" and "Special occasions" don't elicit any particular reaction from me in this case, but I have to check something to make it work.

After reviewing the menu and hearing a description of the interior it would not have been my first choice in Gulfport. After dining though, I went back to buy a gift certificate for my parents it was so good. The food is excellent, the atmosphere quite unique and the family ownership a really nice reason to visit. Everything was good... More

Food was good but 5 star. My husband gad the beef stroganoff and compares this dish to one he has in Pasadena, CA so it is hard for him to give a great review. But he ate it and seemed to enjiy it. I had the peppered filet and t was. Very tasty. I like steak extremely rare and it... More

We went there with friends that live in Gulfport and eat there a couple times a year. We LOVED the atmosphere and the food was terrific. It is NOT for chain restaurant lovers. If you like small unique family restaurants, this is your place.

We had reservations and were promptly seated in a Victorian era style ambiance. The decor is eclectic and the best part of the establishment. We ordered the mushroom appetizer and escargot appetizer. The mushrooms tasted bland but the cheese on top was tasty. The escargots tasted fresh but the butter sauce was thin and there was not a good coating on... More

I was so pleased with the food, service , and atmosphere at this restaurant. I think it hit all the bases for a homerun. I hestitated going to this restaurant for years only because I, too, was a French Chef for over 25 years and had high expectations for any other restaurant that offerred French cuisine. We bought a Groupon... More

Entering La Cote Basque was like a step back in time. It was hard at first to decide if the decor was tackie or unique. The walls were covered with various artwork and the tables were placed in quaint, quiet spots throughout the restaurant with low lighting. Our group of five were seated right away and the waiter arrived quite... More

Not the first visit here but also not the best. Dined with about 12 from work. Crammed into a small room without even room to push back chairs. Incomplete silverware at several seats and mismatched china. Serice fair but staff had to 'auction of'f food (they didn't know who got what). 2 orders screwed up after asking specifically for items.... More

Unique place with lots of religious icons. If you want to enjoy conversation and linger over dinner, this could be for you. They have early bird savings on entrees. Servers were personable. Food was good. Service is slower than average so don't go here if you are in a hurry. Music is 40's soft ballroom. Unapologetic ambiance. If it is... More
