I am not a big sea food guy so I have never been into sushi. My wife is the polar opposite and loves the stuff. I reluctantly took her here one night and was very pleasantly surprised. For a nice restaurant in downtown Gainesville, I didn't think the prices were that bad either ($7-$11 range per roll). My wife had... More

Where do I start? Everything was incredibly tasty in a perfect Japanese atmosphere! A great place to try while visiting UF & celebrating achievements. My recommendations are as follows: DRINKS ~ the Mo-j-O.J., Pandora's Box, Cucumber Compulsion, and the spicy Chili-Orange Caipirinha. DINNER MENU ~ Miso Black Cod, SUPERB!, Stir Fry U-10 Scallops, Dragonfly Short Ribs, & NY Strip Negimaki.... More

I am not a really well versed sushi connoisseur but some.....and the food quality and atmosphere here is EXCELLENT. Parking can be a pain in the backside as is the case all over downtown Gainesville.

I have loved this place since the early years. Glad to see they are still going strong. Good job Hero and Song. Your Orlando location is also very good.

Went with family to celebrate my son getting into UF Law School. We got 8 or 9 different rolls which were all good and fresh. Service was very good. Yaki Sobi was good as well. Beware prices are not cheap here even though location is downtown Gainesville.

We eat at a lot of Japanese restaurants all over the world and are always looking for great value sushi. This place was simply excellent. It was recommended by our hotel as the best sushi so we had high expectations and they were met. Atmosphere was great and our waitress was very helpful with recommendations. Don't miss the volcano roll... More

We were in Gainesville on business. This was a referral from a friend and I also double checked on TA. We booked a reservation online and requested the Sushi bar. When we arrived, it was busy. While we were waiting a couple walked in without a reservation and were offered seats at the sushi bar. I reminded the hostess that... More

I've had sushi in many major cities across the US and this is the place to beat by far. The rolls are fresh and crisp, the location is hip and historic, and the menu is expansive. I live 2 blocks away, so I go there often and restaurant fatigue hasn't even begun to set in. The Godzilla roll without its... More

We have never seen so many sushi chefs turning out so many rolls, so fast. We enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar for the entertainment.
