Wonderful little restaurant which is never packed when I've gone. They're food is wonderful. I'm Cuban and cook a lot at home and when I go out and try to find true Cuban food its difficult because people label their food as Cuban but most times its Colombian or something else with seasonings we typically don't use. This place is... More

Recommended by friends and now recommended by us. Our 1st experience with Cuban food and we couldn't have picked a better one. Family owned since 1970. A family run business and " home styled food". Very good and nicely flavoured. We tried the pork as well as shredded beef. Tasty and very well priced. The meals came with rice and... More

Comfortable family run restaurant with great dishes and good service. Reasonable prices for Cuban specialties.

I came to this restaurant for the first time back in the 70's. I thought I should return and check it out. I enjoyed the black beans and rice as well as the plantains. The pork tenderloin was very good..as remembered. The steak palamillo was just OK....better in my memory. The place is very casual with a feeling of yesteryear.... More

We ate there late after arriving into the airport. WE had waiters in tuxedos who were very attentive. Portions were large with all platters including rice and beans. The only downside is the location. It is off the beaten path on a busy highway. Platters run about $15

Old World Atmosphere! Feel as if you have stepped back in time! Getting passed all that which does lend itself to setting the tone down to the waiters attire... Service is slow but so sincere in making sure all your needs are met down to helping you make the right choice of entree, we started with the fried Yucca-delicious! Their... More

The black beans taste home made, the plantains are not blobs of brown sugar but tasty sweet bananas . I had the garlic chicken chunks and even my 11 year old son had some and loved them, all white meat too. My 11 year old daughter had the fried shrimp and ate every single one, I ate a hand full... Do you realize this restaurant is rated #14 of over 700 restaurants in the Fort Lauderdale area.. There is a resason for that.. I've made several trips to Havana over the years and adore Cuban food. Don Arturo is by far the best in the United States, rivals most in Cuba and is the way Cuban food should be. That... More

It's more of a local favorite and very kitschy, but excellent food and great service...a must go to for dinner.

Having lived in Ft Lauderdale for over 7 years I like to check the top restaurants on Trip Advisor every once in a while to see if anything new has popped up that I haven't heard of. Today to my disbelief I saw Don Arturo at #17. I dined here many years ago and thought the food was good but... More
