A little out of the way but oh so worth it! Limited parking in a busy marina despite marked parking spots, just be careful of moving objects, people, trailers etc. On a recent visit they were just getting the outside terrace ready so we were seated inside and near the bar. Great to see people really enjoy their meal and... More

I love to dine at Abby's Place whenever I'm passing through scenic Essex. This charming, slightly off-the-beaten path harbor side charmer was the best kept secret in town until the word got out. Sweeping harbor views from the deck and the cheerful dining room are delightful. I like to start with a chilled glass of white wine or one of... More

Doesn't seem that I'm the only one that has the same comment regarding slow service, from what I read below. We showed up there yesterday for a late lunch around 2:15 pm. We waited by the door to be seated and no one came for a couple minutes. Then a bus boy walked around us but didn't say a word.... More

We dined at Abby's on a recent night. We were a party of two The bill was over $100.00. Overall, we felt that the food was overpriced for the quality. Additionaly, it took a long time for all our food to get to us. I think Abby was the onloy one in the kitchen cooking--(this in my fourth time dining... More

We had a party of 6 for lunch one day last week and had made a reservation. The staff was overwhelmed and we completely fell under their radar. We were there for about 45 minutes and finally had to ask if someone could take our order. Food arrived and was delicious about a half hour later. Went again today with... More

We dined outside on what was probably the first warm, sunny day of the year and it was perfect. Lovely friendly service, well prepared simple fresh food. I had the poached salmon salad. Great portion size and value, my partner had a delicious burger. The restaurant is in a lovely setting, surrounded by boats, set back a little from the... More

We took a trip from the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York to North Stonington, Ct. and decided to stop in Essex for lunch on the way up. Abby's Place was our stop and our lunch was fantastic. It sits in a marina and is quite quaint. Outside dining is available also with a view of the marina and boatyard. The... More

Although it is a little hard to find, it is worth the trouble. The restaurant was decorated simply, in blues & greens with a beautiful view of the marina. Our food was delicious and nicely priced. Anytime we are in Essex we are sure to come here again. Can't wait to sit out on the deck in the nice weather.

I spent the day with my family on the essex steam train. When our ride was done it was about lunch time and we wanted to eat some close by before heading home. I found Abby's on an internet search and decided to give it a try. It's a quant little place on the essex marinaa. There is outdoor seating... More

Decided to try Abby's before our Santa train ride for lunch and were thrilled. No problems parking, awesome Christmas decorations, and pleasant staff. Food was delicious and served timely. Couldn't have asked for a better experience today!
