Description: Chef Frank Bonanno dug into his Sicilian heritage and east coast roots to create this authentic Italian Eatery. Brightly painted walls and contemporary art create an upscale, urban feel at Luca d’Italia, where knowledgeable servers quickly meet your needs and engage easily in conversation about a menu that changes monthly. Luca has amazing personal touches from the daily made breads and pastas to the meats and cheeses that are cured in house, to the charcoal drawing of Bonanno’s son (and the restaurant’s namesake) that hangs in the dining room. Luca d’Italia is colorful, lively, and tasty; the menu is designed for gluttonous abandon. It’s not your ordinary pile-of-pasta-and-sauce Italian joint; it’s the real (and tasty) deal.

We always eat here in February when our friends from Cortez visit us. The food is always very good, the service is always very good, and so is the ambiance. Give it a try, and I think you will put it on your list of go-to worthy dining spots in Denver.

My husband, and I recently visited Luca for the first time. We were very impressed! Even though my husband would have rather done the 6 course tasting menu, we stuck with the 4 course menu. Everything was wonderful. (The braised meatballs were my absolute favorite) The bread was wonderful, but the butter was even better! My husband had the chocolate... More

The food is great. Everything from the breadsticks to the entrees were very good. The wines are all Italian varietals and the waiter was very helpful selecting something to compliment our dinner.

Great food, paired with great wine. The Chef & staff work in greay harmoy to give you an excellent dinning experience.

We've been to all of the other Denver-area Bonnano-owned restaurants, loved them, and were excited to finally try Luca d'Italia with 4 of our friends. Our table was in the middle of the dining room by the wine station and the small hosting stand. Luca's is an intimate dining space, decorated simply, but possessed a warm, welcoming ambiance. Diners filled... More

The service was very good. Wait staff was prompt and courteous. The menu was very unique, with excellent options and variety. While very creative, it is not inexpensive, however, it is not outrageous. The food was very good. The portions are what you would expect from a high-end culinary experience. If you are looking for the "never-ending-pasta-bowl" this is not... More

With a really good wine list, this restaurant offers a fine dining experience. In the Italian style, diners are expected to order a starter (the Kale salad and the meatballs were outstanding), a first plate (usually a pasta), a second plate (generally a meat or vegetarian entree), and a dessert. We each had a starter and a first plate, and... More

This was my second time at Luca. Both times I was impressed with the creativity of the dishes. Often at restaurants, I feel that I could make the same dish. However at Luca, the flavors were unique and ingredients were combined in different ways. We especially enjoyed the burrata, porchetta, fusilli and the almond cake.

My wife and I went here for the first time for our anniversary. I had read about it in 5280 Magazine and wanted to try something off the beaten path. Our initial impression was mixed - very outgoing staff but the place itself wasn't much to look at. We lucked out and got one of the only window seats. Thank... More

This is my second time at this restaurant. Last time I was there was greater than 8 years ago. Back then it was average and at my recent dinner, I have to say it was just about the same. I will say that the service was excellent as well as the wine list. The food was just not there. Started... More
