A small place that has plenty of traffic, both Spanish-speaking and not, so that's a good sign right there. I like the lengua (e.g. tacos) and torta de carne asada looked really good but I personally prefer stuff made with masa over tortas or anything with flour tortillas, so I didn't order a torta. Don't remember what we got the... More

I have always driven by this little restaurant sitting on the corner of the street and thought that the food looked good. Then one day I decided to go and try the food and drinks. When I walked in, I could smell the amazing flavors of burritos and more. When I looked on the menu, I saw something that stood... More

Stopped for an easy breakfast. Some of the best chilaquiles (Roja not verde) I've ever had. Real rice and perfect beans. Only thing improvement would be metal instead of plastic silverware...Don't let stop you.

We stumbled upon El Bajio while making a road trip up north. Pricey but really good tongue street tacos! We had pleasant and fast service. If they had been open on Mondays we would have stopped for 'seconds' on our way back.

I tried El Bajio first by accident, on a day that another favorite was closed. Now I go to El Bajio if it is open and I am in SB -- and orher places only if it isn't and I am not. The carnitas are sublime, the tamales melt in your mouth, the rellenos are inhaleable, and the fresh made... More

Somewhere along the way the owners lost their focus on food and only cared about $$$. To be fair their tacos were above average and the service was good enough. But I've had better tacos for half the price and that's only half a block away. Felt like I was getting ripped off every bite into the taco.

Sorry, this won't do, very bland flavors - ordered the 3 fried tacos (chicken, beef and carnitas), while they were made to order and nicely crispy, the flavors were SO washed out. The fresh salsas on the side table also were not seasoned with lime juice and badly needed garlic, onions etc seasonings to brighten them. Not impressed especially since... More

Food is very good (used to be fresher).....Salsas are excellent and therein lies the problem. They just started serving chips a couple of years ago charging $2.00 for a modest amount....this in itself is very rare in Mexican restaurants and recently jacked that up to $2.50.....WOW!!! Back to the salsa issue....it's a serve your self salsa bar with one size... More

Hands down the best tasting Mexican food in santa barbara! Their Carne Asada taco is the main reason I come here. Nobody else's even comes close. Their shrimp soup is my second favorite (also comes w chicken, etc). Family owned and run, open more than 10 years. Indoor and outdoor seating available. On any given day you have the most... More

Small taqueria on Milpas St, seating inside and out. I never order anything but the tacos ($2.99). The carnitas tacos are consistently good, but the asada tacos are a knock out. The tacos come with one corn tortilla...I order extra tacos to get the meat /taco proportion right. Beans are smooth but still intact, good subtle flavor...I always add the... More
