I was looking for a place close to my daughter's new apartment and found this on tripadvisor. So many Chinese restaurants can be scary. This place was clean and comfortable on the inside. The food was delicious and servers very friendly. It was pretty busy which is always a good sign. We will be coming here often from now on.... More

This was excellent and the price was extremely reasonable. Parking is in back. Very clean. Decor was not gaudy. Would return if we lived in the area. Much better than another Chinese restaurant we went to earlier in our stay. Servers were very friendly and personable. A place you could bring your family or a date.

We were unhappy with many Chinese restaurants we had tried in the area, so searched many sites for reviews of "best Chinese" and discovered Gau Poang. Are we glad we did!! Delicious food, super friendly service, and reasonably priced. We saw lots of folks taking big orders out for lunch time, and the place was busy at dinner time, also.... More

My son and I have been eating here for many years. It's always fresh, always, ample portions and no grease. My absolute favorite in the area!

I haven't had decent Chinese food since arriving in the Bay Area three years ago. Finally, I can say I have. They have nice table spacing in the restaurant with an additional room on the side where large groups can eat family style. We had Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Black Pepper Steak ( yum, yum), String Beans, Eggplant, Lemon Chicken,... More

this is not my place... this is nothing other than the GREATEST DAMN CHINESE PLACE IN THE HISTORY OF EVER... I had been going to their Burlingame Ave location for about 27 years until it closed... and now their awesome fans, and the fact they were bored with retirement, means more frickin' yummy in my hungry little tummy. The rolling... More

I only gave it a 4 because the chairs need to redone. Food is very good and they are happy to accommodate special diets. It is a family owned business and often the owner is your waiter or cook. They are very friendly and even deliver
